Gorn replacement wristlets?

In regards to shrink tubing, all you would have to do is buy some a wee bit smaller than the wrist diameter and stretch it on...you wouldnt necessarily have to heat it. I've done this before to make gauntlets and gloves and it works fine (the stuff comes in a ton of colors too!)

I can live with the factory wristlets as is, but if you had to have something more accurate, I would consider using rawhide strips. Wrap the rawhide around the arm and wrist as you like, ensuring you tuck the loose ends into the rawhide (sort of like they used to do with bandage strips back in the day) then wet the rawhide and let it dry. the rawhide will shrink to fit the arm as it dries, and if you use the thin stuff, would still allow movement of the joint,albeit limited to a small degree.
If you dont want to wet it, just put glue on the ends....might loosen up a bit over time though?

I was also thinking that if shrink tubing was to be used, a soldering wand set at a VERY low setting and with a large round tip might be a good way to heat the tubing unevenly to get good "wrinkling" effects.

I also found a possible solution in issue #138 of ToyFare in the Customizing 101 article on page 10. Ed Wires was customizing a Marvel Legends figure into a custom Iron Fist. He used 6mm masking tape on the hands to achieve Iron Fist's hand wrappings. He then applied acrylic sealant. An interesting idea. Using this method would possibly make it so that the wrist articulation could be maintained also. A good coat of paint and more sealant and BINGO... gauntlets to even make a Gorn proud.

its almost like we need something like shrink tubing if we're gonna change em at all. Snip a 3/4" piece, punch a small hole for the thumb, slide it on, heat it up...and there ya have a custom fit gauntlet thingie.

Just bare in mind that most shrink tubing hardens a bit when it is heated and shrunk and some even become very solid, so there would be some loss of wrist movement. Also, you would need to chose between the tubing that is plain on the inside (no glue) or the type that has glue coating on the inside that adheres once heated and shrunk. If loss of wrist articulation isn't a concern for those opting for the tubing method, than the glue type would be best for a strong and permanent gauntlet. A thinner walled tube would work best, but do not over heat... this will cause the tubing to split. Uneven heating and some gentle pushing and twisting on the tubing while heating may be a good way to get some good wrinkling effects too.

Just a suggestion here.......If people want rest wrist bands.

Paul has red wrist bands that I used as replacemant thor bads. They may looks slightly better / or vice versa . If you are that concerned you could always try them. Honestly those wristlets it has now don't really bother me at all.
