Keep in mind that Gorn's "wristlets" are not supposed to be armbands. Gorn is supposed to be wearing kind of a fingerless Glove.

I have some extra Samson (Heroes of the Bible) brown wristbands that I'm going to put on my Gorn. They are molded & will shap on; the effect will be kick-***** and look factory produced!

Now that I have a Gorn army on the way, I've decided the gauntlets are a symbol of rank. The grunt gorns get the red cuffs, "seconds" , the equivalent of a commander, get custom leather ones (not hard to make).I've also got some zebra skin felt that I think would look good for junior officers. Big Poppa Gorn Commander (my Brady original) ...well, you all know what they get. I've decided the Gorn Hegemony are still a little closer to "nature" in regards to social standings..a little less civilized than other races. As such, Gorns fight (physically or through intimidation)for command, making it only natural that their leaders are the biggest and the strongest....and as they have to always be on their toes (claws?) against challenges from other Gorns, I would think they would have a fairly high intelligence factor....or they wouldnt last very long.

The material used for the gauntlet would be from the hide of some creature on Gorn world. The higher the rank, the bigger and meaner the critter they had to kill to obtain the right to challenge or the rank. The red plastic gauntlets are from some kind of snake I guess? The stripped hide from the Gorn equivalent of a tiger....and the leather from some big nasty mammal that feeds on Gorn.

The original gauntlets Doc wanted didn't meet specs, and he opted to go with the red ones that the figure was released with. I believe the original designs were more like James' on the Hulk body custom he did. Joann's sells some brown pleather that I used on my Doc Midnight gauntlets that would work well. You can usually pull it out of the scrap bin at some of the larger stores. I also trimmed the factory EMCE gauntlets even with the sew line and they look much better. I think the way they come they give an appearance of being over sized and odd shaped.

He's asking if Doc can do a custom piece...

Kinda like 99% of the stuff Doc sells on his site that isn't tested.

    Gorn replacement wristlets?

Perhaps it is possible for Dr. Mego etc. to sell a replacement part for the Gorn wristlets that can bypass toy standards a bit?
