Doc also sends replacement at no charge. He's done that for me a couple of times.
CTVT is just bad when it comes to their figures.
Their other merchandise; clothes, shoes, etc. is usually pretty good.
Don't get the Space:1999 female boots though, they are too narrow and too brittle to go onto the figures leg without breaking down the back.JediJaidaComment

That's because they're cast from Hasbro's Charlie's Angels doll boots, while Doc's are from actual Megos (or so I believe).Comment

So, I should only buy the muscular Hulk bodies from them because the others will fall apart? Good to know.sigpic

Aren't CTVT bodies also slightly smaller?
Would this be a problem when buying bodysuits from them? Or do their suits fit T2 and Doc Mego bodies OK?Comment

CTVT bodies are the closest to original Mego, in weight, feel and scale, but the guts - the hooks and bands - are too small and tight. So it creates a lot of unnecessary stress on the hinges.
I wish the female CTVT heads were in better scale. Then again, most BBP figures are head disasters, also. Lost should have been grand custom fodder...
Doc and CAW were the only ones who consistently made heads right. Zica, too, but he hasn't had to put out as many variations yet.Comment

Well, to be fair, the new painted rooted heads are pretty much in the same scale as Doc's.
The one I could not STAND was Maya!!! The head kept falling off of the neck post!!!
Don't get me wrong, the sculpt was a dead on likeness; but it was the size of a melon compared to Doc's heads!!!JediJaidaComment

My advice is to try everything and see what you like. We customizers can never have enough spare parts.Comment

Thx for the info on the suits. has anyone tried their "cotton" suits vs the regular ones. Just wondering what the difference is in terms of using them? Do they stretch or hang differently on the bodies?Comment

I have only bought the Kiss figures from CTVC and am absolutely amazed at the horrible quality control. I have had to restring 3 out of 4 figures right out of the box to get them to stand up. You'd think that they would get their act together and spend the small amount of extra time/money to make a passible product. There is simply no excuse for such poor quality. I suspect that if they didn't get the Kiss license, they'd be folded by now. Its a shame that license didn't go to someone else.Comment

I'll assume that by "vintage Mego" you mean a vintage female body? True, I've yet to restring an original Mego female body. I have successfully restrung a DrMego female body. I wrote about it in my old thread Restringing a CTVT fatman body, on the Customs Discussion board. That was the thread when and where I attempted and failed to restring a CTVT female body. I do plan to try again some time in the future.

I'm just glad that he sends out extras of those at no charge.
Maybe if they were made of a flexible silicon....
Anyway, the female CTVT really aren't my favorites. Since they stopped making them with neck stems, it's a bit hard to find a source of them.
Unless you get the ones from the white and green bodies and paint them, but that's a pain in the patootie.JediJaidaComment
