I think they did okay almost BECAUSE of the lack of kids. The toy-focussed products didn't seem to do as well as the high end collector's stuff. But the high-end stuff had a lot of cross-pollination with movie fans, military collectors and such. Because of that I think there'll always be a market for them, even if that market waxes and wanes over time.
