Update on "Aquashark" progress 5.10.11

Here are some more pics of Aquashark showing yet some more work on the body (priming this time) to get him into shape for the final stage before molding him for the production pieces. This is what my buddy had to say about it at this stage:

"Down to 3 [from I think 5 or 6?] trouble spots that I am going to just 'grind down' then putty and sand/polish back out."

Thanks for all the support for 'Aquashark'

Thanks everyone for your kind words of support and encouragement. We will be replacing the original Mego logo (located on the lower tail fin on the original) with our own to again differentiate our repro from the original Mego great white shark. I will be commissioning a printing company tomorrow (if all goes well) to create a professional embossed logo mark for us that will most likely be placed on the underside of Aquashark along the seamline between the pectoral fins that will read:

We have additional future plans for Aquashark beyond this project if this one does well financially for us.....but we'll keep it a surprise for now. More to follow soon....stay tuned!

New logo mark for Aquashark has been ordered

The new logo mark (see below) has been ordered by my local printer for inclusion on the underbelly of Aquashark. This should be ready for pickup early next week (Tuesday or Wednesday). I'll then ship it to the mold maker and he will add it to the underbelly for a nice professional touch.

The new logo mark will officially read: reevefan78 & SCO © 2011

It will replace the original Mego logo to further differentiate our shark from the original Mego great white shark. The mold maker has also walled off the back of the throat to again ensure that ours is clearly a repro and not an original Mego shark.

New logo mark stamp for Aquashark is ready

Hello all,

Just a quick note here to let everyone know that I picked up the new logo mark stamp for Aquashark yesterday from the printers. I ordered two....both are done in 13 pt. Arial font, one is regular and the other is bold letters. I'll be sending both to the mold maker within 24-48 hours so that he can add this to Aquashark so that it will have our professional logo mark on it for the production pieces.

I also got an email yesterday from my buddy (the mold maker) saying that Aquashark was basking in the sun from yet another coat of primer (good thing because rains are coming in again in his area of the country)......this baby's gonna have a nice 'showroom shine' once he's done with it. My original had quite a bit of plastic melt on the body that he's had to smooth out but he said it is looking 'fin-tastic'! I'm very excited about this project and know that we are doing everything to ensure it is of the finest quality that will ever be made since it's original birth at the Mego Corp. in 1978.
