I just received these photos from the mold maker showing my original Mego shark side-by-side with 'Aquashark'. We're getting close to the finish line.....just a bit more priming and sanding to give him that 'showroom shine', LOL. Enjoy the pics. More to follow soon....stay tuned.

              Update on "Aquashark" progress 4.26.11

Thanks for all the kind and encouraging words from everyone.....really appreciate that. Below is another update from my mold makin' buddy that I received this afternoon. More to follow soon so stay tuned!

Went through another course of sanding and shaping Aquashark today.
Some epoxy putty is curing and then another few coats of primer
over the next few days - humidity allowing.
Worked primarily on the inside of the throat and lower 'tongue' area today.
Also remembered that I forgot to put in Reevefan78 while the putty was soft.
Will have to etch that in before polishing.
Hoping for trading in the sanding for the polishing phase by Friday.

                Update on "Aquashark" progress 5.5.11

Here are some more pics of 'Aquashark' during the priming/sanding stages next to his 'Daddy'. Enjoy....stay tuned.....more to follow soon!

This is a direct quote from the mold maker regarding 'Aquashark':

Am in the spit and polish stage on AquaShark. Seeing as I am using
high grade silicon I want it to be as 'brand new-smooth' as possible.
Because that stuff will replicate any flaws, even as small as light scratches
                or grease from a fingerprint..
On the other end of the spectrum I also don't wish to lose the actual
flaws in the original Shark either. This is why it has been a little slow going.
I have been having to protect some areas but in others putty and sand/prime etc...
I also want to retain the not so straight seam between the body halves.
Been having to protect the little crooks and variations in it as well.

The weather has been hampering me somewhat with the constant rain.
we have only had 3 days of sunshine in almost as many weeks. I have used them
to the fullest for Aqua with the primer sessions. I estimate that I am approximately 92%
                done with the prototype model.

I bet in a B/W pic you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the real one and the prototype
