Any interest in a repro Aquaman vs The Great White Shark set?

If it was me I would put a little black star on each side of the box (maybe in the corners)

It would be a nonintrusive but blatant way of telling everyone it's a repro from all angles.

I always considered unmarked repros counterfeits, not repros.

I would not consider the work of Mike Rogers and Anthony Durso nor my friend Greg Jensen to be "counterfeits" as you suggest. No disrespect to any of these fine gentlemen as I have repro boxes from all of them and none of mine are marked as repros. But anyone with any modicum of knowledge can spot one right away.......I can tell by the printing and also by the cardboard backing. Plus these fine gentlemen are not trying to pass the work they do off as "original" mego boxes either. But that's just my two cents.

As it stands now, we are going to denote on the bottom of the box that this was a project created by myself and my friends as well as giving credit where credit is due for each person's part in this repro. I think that would be sufficient.......and let's not forget that the repro boxes will be pristine.......never seen a pristine original Aquaman VS The Great White Shark Box and insert unless you're talking about the one I had back in 1978 and that is long gone. :-(

^^^^ Couldn't some nefarious scalper type just drop a real Mego Aquaman in there and attempt to pass it off as the real deal?

If you go back into the post history on this item you'll see all the things that my friends and I are doing to make sure this is VERY distinguishable from the "real McCoy".......and yes, like Meule suggested......since this box will be pristine that should be your first indication that this is a repro because to anyone's knowledge there doesn't exist a pristine mint condition original box and insert anywhere on the planet. Nothing is really necessary I suppose......not even this project....but I thought it would be a fun one to do.....been wanting to reproduce this shark for years now, just had to find the right guy to do it. But why not put our info on the bottom of the box?......Hot Toys usually gives credit to their artists even on the packages and I think it's a nice thing to do. It doesn't bother me any and I certainly don't mind giving credit to my friends that worked really hard to see this project to fruition. Besides, you'd only see it on the bottom of the box anyway.....at least that is where I'm wanting to put that info at the moment so as not to disturb the overall authenticity of the original box design.

If we put anything on the box to denote it as a repro (although I would think it would be easy enough to tell since I've never seen or heard of anyone that had a mint box) but in case any of you collectors out there are worried I can have Greg put my info on the very bottom of the box to denote it as a repro......BUT I WILL NOT TAMPER WITH THE ORIGINAL MEGO LOGO OR ANY INFORMATION ON THE BOX......IT IS PERFECT AS IS AND I WANT IT TO BE A FAITHFUL REPRO BOX. So let me know guys if you want me to put "reevefan78 © 2011".

"Mayonnaise"?........why not a can of Starkist Tuna (or any brand for that matter).......I would think "Aquashark" would go for a can of tuna over mayonnaise.....yes? LOL

I bet it's a lot bigger than most people (who've never seen one in real life) think

I'll see if I can get Geoffdude to help out with that....if not I'll get Greg to take a pic once he's got the box finished, constructed and assembled. More to follow soon.....stay tuned.

I would love for you to notate all your hard work on the box somewhere. Not only to differentiate the box from an original, but because you should have your mark on your work.
