I haven't read all this thread but from what I got so far I think the shark is an awesome Idea. Has anyone suggested to add the mattel Aquaman and make him a little different somehow just to make the set all the better and more collectable? I'm a Batman guy ,even have a Bat tattoo, but I think the new Aquaman is one of the top three new retros IMO, I liked him better than Bats.Comment

I think putting a new Aquaman with a classic repro would look pretty awful
No disrespect to the retro heroes but they don't belong with classic stuff

Latest In-progress shot of the "Aquashark" repro box 3.11.2011
Okay guys here's the latest screen capture that Greg sent me of the Aquabox.....the differences from the last post of it might be subtle but they are substantial where the printing is concerned. Greg told me he'll be doing a print test of the box on Sunday and he'll have the insert done by then too. As soon as he sends me a screen cap of the insert I'll be sure to post it here. This is very exciting!!! More to follow soon....stay tuned!

I definately want a box. I think personally I'd put any repro information on the bottom of the box. It's out of the way when displayed but noticable when looking at it in person.sigpic WANTED: Boxed, Carded and Kresge Carded WGSHComment

I don't have any interest in this project. However I will offer my opinion that this box should be altered in such a way that it is identifiable as a reproduction upon viewing a photo of it, not having to see some fine print in a less seen location. The argument that it is a shiny new box will only hold water for so long. It can be given false wear by unscrupulous people. It might even just become worn naturally in 10 years or so and after changing hands a couple of times, someone puts it on ebay saying they got it at an estate sale or some such.
My recommendation is that you fill in the Mego M logos with a color, lets say black. It won't take anything away from the box aesthetically and really shouldn't bother any one that wants in on one of these. And at the same time it will be identifiable from the front, sides and back as different.
Like I said I won't be buying this, so you can take my opinion and do what you like, but I don't see how there could be any reason to not do that. The repro identification on the bottom is still a good thing to have there, but I think its in the hobby's interest to have something to identify it from all angles too.Comment
