    Tomland Mini Monsters $273?

OK SPILL IT! Now that the auction is over what do you guys think? Link:
1979 Tomland Vintage Mini Monster--Mint on Partial Card - eBay (item 190347771346 end time Nov-14-09 14:58:33 PST)
Notice the back of the card? Wolfman, Morlock, and AH yet another Tomland set unseen. These are movable and seem not to be the PVC figures am I incorrect?
More awesome Tomland stuff. Quaismodo is a new unknown figure in The Tomland Monsters line

I haven't seen this 1979 Tomland Toy line. Does anyone have a pic showing the full front and back of the Card? It looks the cut off head in back is Dracula.

I got outbid on this..... Sadly. There is another post in this forum somewhere about these. I think I posted pics of the LIncoln monsters next to the Tomland minis (looked like same sculptor) a couple years ago, but couldn't find the thread. I have some of these and sold an extra one I had for I think 800 a year ago, so I don't think this was a bad price. They have movable arms and all look like they were sculpted by the same sculptor who did the Lincoln 8" heads...................

Like any collectible, price is very relative. If I didn't know about these toys, I would think $300 was crazy for this, too. But, they are a very desireable monster toy line that also happens to be extremely rare. This is also the first Hunchback that I have ever seen come up for sale. I didn't know it existed until this auction. Plus, the partial package is a big deal, too.
The Lincoln Monsters came out in the mid-70's, and the very rare Tomland monsters came out in 1980. But in 1979 - these little monster figures were released (probably in the UK), based on the Lincoln Monster sculpts. The link between Tomland and Lincoln lies in these toys. So for hardcore 70's monster toy collectors, they are a big deal.
The best Mego comparison I could make would be the discovery of the Jet Jungle figure - and that sold for considerably more than $300 as I recall.

I thought this was going to go for more after hearing the prices that some of the other Tomland minis had sold for. didn't a mini mummy sell for like a grand or something? or was that a cardback?
I just didn't think this guy looked all that "monstery" though, and the little figures are a little too "cute" for my tastes. I can definitely see why they would be desirable to others though.

I was very surprised by the final price, too. I anticipated over a grand...
