Not a bad price at all considering that this is the first Hunchback to show up (I think) and it includes part of the packaging. These little guys aren't really my thing, but I appreciate it's rarity and place in monster toy history, so I think someone got a pretty good deal on this.

At that price I'd have made a play for this guy, I love this reuse of the Lincoln Molds. Especially because you got a piece of the packaging, which is like finding the corner of a treasue map.

One of these days I'll add at least the mummy to my "lincoln crypt"

I was very surprised by the final price, too. I anticipated over a grand...

I thought this was going to go for more after hearing the prices that some of the other Tomland minis had sold for. didn't a mini mummy sell for like a grand or something? or was that a cardback?
I just didn't think this guy looked all that "monstery" though, and the little figures are a little too "cute" for my tastes. I can definitely see why they would be desirable to others though.

Like any collectible, price is very relative. If I didn't know about these toys, I would think $300 was crazy for this, too. But, they are a very desireable monster toy line that also happens to be extremely rare. This is also the first Hunchback that I have ever seen come up for sale. I didn't know it existed until this auction. Plus, the partial package is a big deal, too.
The Lincoln Monsters came out in the mid-70's, and the very rare Tomland monsters came out in 1980. But in 1979 - these little monster figures were released (probably in the UK), based on the Lincoln Monster sculpts. The link between Tomland and Lincoln lies in these toys. So for hardcore 70's monster toy collectors, they are a big deal.
The best Mego comparison I could make would be the discovery of the Jet Jungle figure - and that sold for considerably more than $300 as I recall.

I really want these guys but I'm far too cheap to buy them.

I have some of these and sold an extra one I had for I think 800 a year ago, so I don't think this was a bad price. They have movable arms and all look like they were sculpted by the same sculptor who did the Lincoln 8" heads...................
