Flash Gordon ReMego Any Chance?

Hey gang,what do you think the chances are,that the Flash Gordon line would be re-made mego style again?

I am thinking of collecting the Mego Flash Gordon line as i think these figures are really great and there is something about them makes me want to get them.

Not sure about the mego style FG, but there is the Biff Bang Pow! movie version in the works.

BBP would either have to do some costume variations or umbrella the license to another company for a 50s look FG such as the Mego versions.

I figured you had seen the BBP stuff, but it has been under the radar as of late and needs a little post boost.

As far as the Megoish blast of the past FG. Probably won't see that too soon if the licensors are concentrating on the 70s version. Of course, that is assuming the production license covers all Flash Gordon and not just the movie version. I'm sure the copyrights for FG are all over the map since he is an established character with a loooong history.

I have high hopes for the movie ones, tho.

Doc has a really great Flash head on his site.

I ordered one, and I think it would look great done in vinyl.

The old Mego line with the old Mego Buster Crabbe sculpt would be truly awesome. I still don't understand why Mego did NOT do it in 8" scale when they would have gone so well with the Startrek line if they were only the same height!

And that license is probably about as obtainable as the Phantom or Munsters line, etc.

Maybe, maybe not.

The license itself might be easy to get; the license to use Buster Crabbe's likeness might not.

They'd have to go through estate lawyers, whatever family is left, copyright laws, etc.

I like the Filmation version of Flash Gordon that was on TV oh so many years ago. I watched it every Saturday, and its probably more familiar to baby boomers like myself than Buster Crabbe's version, who was more from my mother's day.

There is a company doing Buster Crabbe as Flash, so its not impossible.
