So are Uhura and Mugato on the water now? Because I thought they were coming out before The cheron and Checkov.
I can't wait to get Uhura.

CTTV's figures are great -- for the person who like NMBIP (not mint broke in package)

The male CTVT bodies I get. I give them a re-stringing and that solves one problem. I cant say as I got any broken or with major casting faults. I dont want to sound like I'm defending CTVT as They have screwed up on other quality issues (ie. I got 2 left hands instead of a set once. The black gloved hands are awful.) In comparison to some classic mego bodies I own. CTVT share's some of Mego's quality problems.
Has anyone tried to re-string a CTVT female body and if so. How would you do it?
To sum it all up I'd say if you want to make a custom use a CTVT body (You wont feel bad if you accidentily destroy it in the cutomizing proccess.) But I go with Doc all the way on the rest. I'm up to 7 of his Star Trek figures and cant wait to get more and more and more.

Well, I just restrung a vintage arm, using the elastic that it came with, onto a vintage Batgirl arm.

Take a slim crochet hook, sized E or F, insert through the armhole opposite the one of the prestrung arm, and slide the hook through the loop on the end of the elastic.

Pull the elastic through the armhole, and insert a blunt tapestry needle to keep up the tension.

Have the other arm, with the peg preinserted halfway through the hole in the back of the arm, remove the tapsetry needle and hold the elastic behind
the loop. Keep the elastic taut and line up the peghole with the loop.

Push the peg through the first hole, the loop and the front peghole. Tighten up the peg by applying pressure from the tip of a small pair of embroidery scissors, the flat tip of a screwdriver, or any other small tool.

            Bingo! You've restrung an arm!

As to restringing the neck post, pretty much the same thing, just push the post down the elastic and keep it taut while you put the little stopper into the elastic's loop.

Now, I've never restrung a torso, but I imagine that if, if, mind you, the hip area is in separate pieces, and you have a vintage elastic that still has some stretchiness or CTVT elastic, then, insert one peg through the elastic loop, and into the matching hole. Use a small bit of superglue to keep the pieces together, you don't want to get it all goopy.

As to the legs, if they are in pieces, use the same procedure.

If the body pieces are intact, but the elastic is beyond useless, then use elastic cord.

There's a tutorial on how to restring a body on this group, and I should imagine that it's the same for female bodies as for the males.

To make the loop that goes through the neck post on the female body, take a tapestry needle, and use it to form a small loop. Remove from the needle, and place a small rubber band under the loop, string it as per the above instructions, put the stopper through, and allow the neck post to settle in place.

Put the head on and voila! (or however that's spelled) and you've restrung a body!
