The knee thing is the only thing that disappointed me with the 50th anniversary. I'm waiting to see if it is really fixed on the next wave before I make a purchase.

So this shouldn't be too difficult to repair at the factory. It wouldn't require a new tool to be made, just modification to the existing tooling, which makes the claims that Mego corrected the issue that much more believable.

I just hope we start seeing the new knees soon, but I also want to see more than just WGSH.

I don't think they can alter the tooling to fix the issue. I think they need new tooling. They would have to add metal to the mold and that would be pretty hard. But, they could have people take the parts when they came out of the mold and trim them down.

It's not hard. Marx did it all the time. You just add a metal to the die that has a higher melting point than the plastic. Super easy to do, industry standard, in fact.

Hasbro did it often with 90s/2000s GI Joe & Action man.

Exactly. Pretty sure they use Aluminum. Higher melting point than plastic, but lower than the steel the toy dies are cut from.

If they decide they want to change it back, all they have to do is melt out the aluminum.

Suit yourself. I'm telling you, I've seen Marx do it, and I know Mattel did it with M.U.S.C.L.E.

And i know the way they did it was to fill in the cavity with metal.

I'm praying that the knees get fixed in the next wave. Dr Mego was surprised that the big lots megos still had the problem. I hope that doesn't carry over because I want a lot of the next wave!
