If they'd do 50th anniversary versions for APES, do you think they'll go with accuracy and use the original Soldier Ape head, or just reuse Ursus' head again for the Soldier but with 50th anniversary packaging?

If Mego does 50th anniversary versions, they should be accurate to the originals.

While I have been tempted, I didn't buy the reproductions. I have my originals and will gladly pick up new versions and new characters.

I haven't changed… enough with the replica interpretations of the originals as both Doc and Mego have already hit those notes well, and the vintage figures remain (sans the rarities) plentiful. New characters (FFS Marcus/Julius/Aldo 3-pack-action!) and in the continuation of their contemporary stylings is exciting. So much fertile ground remains (let's not waste a rare continuation of the POTA license!) including ANSA and ApeOnauts, more Conquest, untouched Battle, and TV and animated series!.

Now that I think about it, since Mego has acquired the Marvel license, it would be cool if Mego made Apes with the whacky color schemes from ADVENTURES ON THE PLANET OF THE APES.

I can only say that Marty was sincere when he said he wasn't done with Apes. Hopefully I'll get something more concrete for Issue 11.

Thanks for sharing that info Brian. As exciting as it was to hear the Marvel announcement at Mego Meet in Marty's video hearing him answer " yes " to the more Apes question was the most exciting thing for me.
