Is Mego done with POTA?

Is Mego done producing classic Planet of the Apes figures? If so, I'm disappointed that we didn't get more. I think they might still produce figures for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes which is due in the next couple of years pending resolution of the Writers and Actors Guild Strikes.

At Mego Meet last weekend someone asked Marty if there were any new POTA coming up and he said yes. Then he told a great story of how he got the license to POTA back in the 70s.

FWIW, I do not believe Mego is done with Apes or Ultraman. I feel like they just want to focus on WGSH, and I get it.

But damn do I want Ultraman more than I want Marvel and DC.

Since your wish list is relatively heavy on "Battle/POTA" characters, I'm guessing you mean the MacDonald from "Battle"?

I was thinking Conquest, but either one. Same with Armando, one can always customize outfits.

If they'd do 50th anniversary versions for APES, do you think they'll go with accuracy and use the original Soldier Ape head, or just reuse Ursus' head again for the Soldier but with 50th anniversary packaging?

I would prefer exact replicas of the originals ( figures and packaging ) with new characters added in. The originals shouldn't be altered in any way with the exception of the new body. Especially want to see Nova, Aldo and Julius.

How about the original Astronaut? They can simply swap for a Taylor head

I doubt they will bother with the original generic Astronaut since they have the screen accurate Astronauts Brent and Taylor out now.
