None of those variations required extra tooling. They were all variations in the soft goods part of the figures, not on the figures themselves. Tooling a new body ups the production costs, making less likely to be a viable option.

If it's an anniversary set based on nostalgia, use the old bodies for Hulk and Thing. If it were a whole new line, I'd say make new ones, but it's pretty clear Mego is a product aimed at a nostalgia audience not a new audience. Not a bad thing, but be who you are and be the best you can be at it. Don't try to please 2 different audiences, you'll wind up pleasing neither.

I'd like to see an updated female body and muscle body. No need to repeat the sins of the past.

Exact replicas for the 50th anniversary and updated for later releases.

Every DC release has been on what Mego has hoped to be the new standard body. We haven't seen any purposefully created different body types, so a new body would be needed to get a Thing, Hulk, or even the Teen Titans for as-faithful-as-possible renditions for the 50th Anniversary line. I would love for Mego to just make adult Teen Titans using the existing body, but that won't work for The Hulk and Thing. For them to be made, a new body would have to be created, and I think it would have to be a body that can be re-used, like for a Solomon Grundy, so a full height body is what I think we would get. And I am fine with that. It may even make me want a Mego Hulk.

I'm sorta leaning towards an updated size, with more articulations, but the nostalgia in me creeps in at the same time. Then again, with an updated bigger body, Solomon Grundy, will be a cinch.
It should be with updated bodies for this New generation of Mego fans.
