He be the most Mego-y new figure for just that reason!

There wasn’t much product with The Flash in the 70’s and 80’s, let alone any of his villains.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

The thing that still kind of boggles the mind is, the fact Mego came out with a Kid Flash action figure but no Flash? Teen Titans Speedy-Aqualad and Wonder Girl all had mentors Mego created, and I guess you can technically even add Robin to that group, although he was an 8 inch and not 6 inch figure.

I’m not sure the reason why Mego never made a Flash figure, maybe he wasn’t popular enough?

Other than the comics, Reverse Flash has really only featured in the CW television series. He was the main villain over the course of its nine season run.

The movie didn't even have a Flash villain in it. Just a Superman baddie in Zod.

I don't know about that. I badly wanted a Mego Flash growing up. I made my own "custom" Flash using a Captain America head and a Shazam costume and boots. Yeah his head was blue, but my 10 year old self didn't care

Flash and GL's absence in the old line will always be a mystery. They were regulars on the Superfriends, whereas Green Arrow made only a single appearance in the first season, and didn't even have his own comic (he shared with Hal). Either would have been cheaper to produce than Ollie, as well.

As for Zoom, he's requires no new head sculpt and has been in the major Flash media for almost a decade, so he was a natural choice. I wish they'd done a more classic version, but I definitely feel DC's finger pushing down on the scales here. Mego got away with super classic GL and Flash, but this feels like pushback on further characters who were not in the original line like Bizarro and Two-Face. On the other hand, Paul did mention wanting to upgrade the figures to a higher standard than what we saw when we were kids, so it may be a mix of reasons. And we haven't seen designated final versions, so I'm not passing final judgement yet on .

Paul mentioned DC's style guide in reference to Isis in his last interview with me, so I would argue here that Zoom's look is based on the style guide. All licensed material has to adhere to that *look*... which I'm sure includes "retro" figures like our beloved Megos.

Style guides won't help failures like that Flash movie. The folks that own these things are nutty, and it's time to regain the fun!

I guess I'm in the minority but I like Professor Zoom. When I was getting comics regularly in the early 80s, he was heavily featured (Death of Iris, etc.).

I read comics in the 70's and really like Reverse Flash a lot more than Capt. cold , Piper, Weather Wizard etc. I still hate the Mattel cloth retro Capt . Cold even though I picked him up at Ross for $ 5.00 years back . I collect Mcfarlane DC universe and
Reverse Flash is the only Flash villan that I bought . CW Flash gave life and personality to Capt Cold , and Heatwave, that I never got out of comic versions. I always thought that Flash villans had to group up to be interesting unlike Batman villans that
                            are cool by them self

I'm a grandfather Gen-Xer, and I like the Reverse Flash figure and think he fits in with the rest of the gang. When I spotted mine at Walmart, I could have bought him or the Penguin. But I already have a vintage Penguin that couldn't be any nicer, so I went with something new that was bright and colorful and a fun edition to the line up. It's a well done figure, even if it looks a tad more modern than the others. Maybe...just maybe...some kids will buy these and enjoy playing with them like we did.

I ran to Walmart tonight, and the only Mego figure they had on their shelves was a Reverse Flash.
