Seriously, Why did we get Reverse Flash?

I bought a second Joker even over it at Walmart...

The Reverse Flash is also a modern version and way out of place in this line.

Mego being Mego? They took the Lizard and made him the Gorn. Peter Parker's head was Captain Marvel's. Superman became Dinah Mite's boyfriend Don. It's the tradition of reusing existing material to make another figure.

Reverse Flash has been used a lot in the last ten years, and I suspect that played a part along with no new tooling. You are right that he would not have made the cut in 1974 but what do we know about Mego?

Brian is on the right track. It didn't require new tooling. Plus the character was the main villain in the CW Flash show.

Out of the batch of Mego bad guys, Reverse Flash is my favorite. Are the eyes the hang up for most folks? To me he is a good-looking figure, and that yellow costume really pops.

He's better than upcoming Two-face and Bizarro, that's certain.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I like the Reverse Flash. Sure I'd rather have gotten a classic Captain Cold. But the Reverse Flash has been used a lot more in recent media and he looks great next to the excellent Flash.

Had Mego made the Flash in the Seventies, I could easily see them reusing the head sculpt to make Reverse Flash.

I always liked the Reverse Flash. He was visually appealing. Had we gotten a Flash in the 70s, a Reverse Flash would not have been far behind. It would have been cool if they were both in the same wave.

Absolutely, but I doubt we would have gotten a Flash villain in the 70s. I mean only Superman, Batman and Spider-Man got villains.

If the images are correct, Two Face and Bizzaro will be BIG misses.

I don't mind Reverse Flash. If anything, my nitpick is that he, plus Flash & GL have serious/stern sculpts rather than the sort of goofy, friendly, soft features of early Megos that I would have preferred. But Two-Face and Bizarro I may skip, based on the comments here. Haven't seen them yet, but the Retro-Action Two-Face from Mattel about a decade back, plus the FTC Superfriends Bizarro have me covered. I think both of those look pretty perfect. Two-Face, in particular, looks like he could have been a real early 70s Mego.

I think the Bizarro and Two-Face photos were of prototypes. Hopefully the head sculpts of the finished products will be a bit softer and more in line with other releases.
