Seriously, Why did we get Reverse Flash?

Reverse Flash has been used a lot in the last ten years, and I suspect that played a part along with no new tooling. You are right that he would not have made the cut in 1974 but what do we know about Mego?Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Brian is on the right track. It didn't require new tooling. Plus the character was the main villain in the CW Flash show.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

He's better than upcoming Two-face and Bizarro, that's certain.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

Had Mego made the Flash in the Seventies, I could easily see them reusing the head sculpt to make Reverse Flash.Comment

I always liked the Reverse Flash. He was visually appealing. Had we gotten a Flash in the 70s, a Reverse Flash would not have been far behind. It would have been cool if they were both in the same wave.ScottComment

I don't mind Reverse Flash. If anything, my nitpick is that he, plus Flash & GL have serious/stern sculpts rather than the sort of goofy, friendly, soft features of early Megos that I would have preferred. But Two-Face and Bizarro I may skip, based on the comments here. Haven't seen them yet, but the Retro-Action Two-Face from Mattel about a decade back, plus the FTC Superfriends Bizarro have me covered. I think both of those look pretty perfect. Two-Face, in particular, looks like he could have been a real early 70s Mego.Last edited by Count_Popula; Jul 16, '23, 11:44 PM.Comment

I think the Bizarro and Two-Face photos were of prototypes. Hopefully the head sculpts of the finished products will be a bit softer and more in line with other releases.Comment
