That's crazy. I'm sorry to hear that. How did they send them? By UPS or FedEx, or by regular UPSP mail?
I was going to call and complain about my fees, but I guess there's no sense in doing so now. If I can't get them through the online store, I'm not sure what I'm going to do for any subsequent sets.
Canadians, Avoid UPS !!!
Fedex never nailed me and was never ever charged with USPS.
Will ask my Disney shopper if USPS is an option for other sets.
James, was thinking of trying the EU pre order. Its 160$ Can plus 50$ shipping. The Canadian boarder agent didnt want to answer me if I was in the clear if I ordered in the EU. She plainly refused to answer me... Talk about bad service.
If 210$ Canadian with no added fees, will have to start ordering in the EU.
Can you actually beleive this ****Comment

All the major hits I got in the recent months have been with UPS.

Yeah my wife ordered me a set and it came the other day. Looks nice, but it on the shelf. This thing took the fun out of it to be honest. I will still pick up Hulk, Iron-Man, Falcon etc whenever they surface, but I am a bit silver/bronze age of a person so It will be much easier to pass on others. I also plan to skip as many of these ordeals as possible. I picked up new Superman The Movie figures from trendmasters days later which much more captured the reason I like buying this stuff.
Still a nice set I like how the coin is featured.Comment

JamesB,
My sets came in from my Disney shopper. I was hit with $133 charge for duty and taxes on 2 sets....
I called the Canadian border agency, they told me a 25% surcharge is now added to all things coming in from the US.
So, 30% loss on the echange rate plus 25% Tarrif and for me a 15% provincial sales tax....
I have to find a different options for these Disney sets.Comment

I got a nice surprise this week when my FF set arrived much earlier than expected from Disney's EU store. Their website said October, but now I already got my hands on it! Really didn't think this would happen after my experience with the Spidey set (which I will probably never get). Am I happy despite all the problems with Disney's messed-up distribution? Yeah, I have to say I love those FF. The only thing I don't appreciate is the careless packaging. The box has severals dings and one of the corners was crunched pretty badly. But what do you expect from Disney who obviously don't care a lot about collectors. Still very happy I got the FF ... while also feeling bad for all of those fans who were left out again.Comment

I received my set yesterday as a birthday gift from my kids. It definitely brought back memories of finding the originals when they first came out at a toy store in the old Sharpstown Mall in Houston as a kid. Nearly 50 years ago, and I still remember it like it was yesterday.
I think Ben, Reed, and Johnny look great. The only one I’m not all that happy with is Sue. I don’t like to remove these reproductions from their boxes because they seem to lose a lot of their magic when I do that, but she needed a little work. I used a couple of thin slivers of Blu-Tac to keep her collar down and pushed her belt down a bit which helped the positioning of the “4” look more natural. I also made a clear headband to tame that wild hair a bit and make her more closely resemble the original MIB version.
Not only is the hair wild, but she has some bald spots that you can clearly see once she’s out of the box. I’d love to take some boiling water and a comb to her hair and see if I could straighten most of it, but I know that would result in my OCD talking me into buying another one on eBay to keep unaltered. It’s really not worth the extra cost or hassle for a figure I intend to keep in the box anyway.
Mego has some work to do before they release the Super Gals.Last edited by Xavion2004; Sep 14, '25, 11:14 AM.Comment
