The issue isn't that the bodies are brittle. It is that during assembly, the joints often get turned underneath the clothing. You can end up trying to bend something a way that it isn't supposed to bend and it snaps. But if you carefully make sure that everything is pointed the right direction before you start posing, they seem to hold up pretty well.
(Banded bodies had their share of issues too. Bands breaking. Knees snapping. Etc. In the modern era, the tension from the bands had caused a number of figures to crack and fall apart. So I don't blame Mego for trying to upgrade. The Type Z bandless bodies-- originally from Castaway/Zica-- are great!)

. A commentor stated the same happened to his/her Electro. I guess Mego r still using that brittle body. I will only get Hawkman and the Keaton Batman under the strong assumption the body must be changed to the Type-S. As I kid my Megos were able to withstand play. Mego bandless bodies have been nothing short of problematic since. They look nice but once outta the box
. I wonder how long Mego will stay in business with the lack of quality control.
