Maybe they will make a variation with the red cape in a titan wave down the line.
The proto type does have a white cape - which works fine for me but i'm not a die hard DC guy like some of you.

I'm literally revolted to hear that. We need to start a petition. Or, they need to offer other Marvel Family capes in alternate colors.

What exactly is DC mandating--that the figures follow the style guides they provide to FTC? If so, it's inconsistent: Dr. Sivana is like the style guide (though not very traditional); Scarecrow's style guide is very traditional but the head sculpt is off-guide and closer to art from a Joker comic.

I think FTC could profit from offering Marvel capes in various colors, as they have for Kull and Batman.

I've already gotten into the habit of opening and altering my FTC figures to make them more match what I want. And then I re-seal them in their clam shells.

Shaking my head now because I realize that doesn't make a lot of sense since they have now clearly been opened. I do save the original parts though. The last set I got are the First Appearance Batman and Robin. Good bye oven mitts. New paint for Batman's head and new head and paint for Robin.

They used to have a red Shazam style cape with no trim on CTTV, but I don't even see that this morning.

Over at Classic TV Toys they have female figures to buy ... they're basically Supergirl w/ different hair colors. I'm buying the brown haired one to switch out for Mary Marvel ... I think she'd work.

Approval processes are often complicated. Are you suspecting DC specifically told them the cape had to be white, or is it simply that FTC showed them a figure with a white cape and DC said, "fine"? Just looking at what has passed muster thus far, DC hasn't been particularly picky. Speedy was approved in his original incorrect Mego form with long sleeves and short pants, no obejctions were apparently voiced about Bizarro's huge head, and they seemed to have no problem with FTC using an old looking head based on a Marvel figure for Mary. More to the point, we got both a yellow and a white cape for Shazam himself, so why would DC suddenly be adamant about the color of Junior's cape? I know license owners can be outright petulant in what they will or will not approve at times, almost irrationally so (and there are numerous specific examples I can site from the past couple decades), but this seems a bit out of the blue, especially on a lesser known character.
