I think IG could serve as both Mera and Poison Ivy--it's really about the tiara vs. the ivy garland, the changing of the rooting pattern and hair color, and the paint applications.
This brings up a question--will Poison Ivy be Silver-Age, or '80s version? There are slight style and hair color differences. The JLGL art I see is '80s-style.

"Hairy" Mary Marvel is what the Titans call her...or so I heard...
Pure speculation, but I think the original IG head looks like Welch because that's who it was intended for.
Where all the other sculpts have some bizarre commonality with their cardart, IG has almost none and oddly, a bobbed cut Dinah would have had more resemblance to classic IG.
FF and Waltons were made/released in '75/76, 1MBC was '77, but the movie was already a decade old. As noted before, Korg/Land of the Lost were running on Saturday Mornings from '74 at this point, so it was most certainly a quick cash-in on a trend.
It then looks like Mego couldn't use Welch's likeness for whatever reason and knew that by '75, which chronologically would have been the real hot moment for a caveman toyline. So they swapped Welch onto IG and the 1MBC line was pushed back due to the development of new action bodies. Ma Walton was then dumped onto the female, because as we know from history, Mego wasn't hurting for IG heads for the next several years.
I'll be slammed for saying this, but the costume is sloppy and IG's not the best choice for Mary IMO.
As for her name, "Eff Yew" to Marvel Comic's embargo of the moniker.
Hear, Hear!!
Looks like I'll be keeping my custom Mary thank you! So disappointed....A brown haired Super Girl would
be a better choice..
Thanks FTC, for saving me money yet again!

And Mary Marvel was my 3rd DC superheroine boyhood crush! 1st Yvonne Craig Batgirl, then Lynda Carter Wonder Woman, then Mary Marvel on the 1981 Filmation Shazam cartoon- BEST Mary Marvel yet!
This FTC Mary is an insult to Shazam fans like me! Sivana, Harley, and Scarecrow have NEW heads, why not Mary? Or the Super Gals head Lois Lane and Tarzan's Jane seem to have!
Captain Marvel is getting a new head in Shazam wave and I bet Cap Jr does too unless *shudder* FTC uses toothy Superboy head for Freddy Freeman, too! But that will stink if Mary is only figure in Shazam wave who does not have a new noggin!
I never really liked this head for Mego Invisible Girl it looked too sophisticated for Sue Storm!
I am buying a couple Mary's but would have rather had a Brown Hair Supergal head on this one. This is not a Mary Marvel head, but than none of the original
Mego Supergals looked like their comic book versions
This "doctored" Mary Marvel looks great ... I think it's all in the face ... she looks younger/"sweeter" ... to be honest the reddish hair looks better with this face ... wow!
Agreed. Why would Bronze Age MM's face ever have anything NEAR a "mature" label???----She's a kid.
