Well...it was supposed to be funny. Why would he indeed? We are all upset about Penguin not coming with an umbrella, so what would make you more happy, an umbrella with Mr. Freeze to complete your Penguin, or a complete Mr. Freeze?

The pic of Supes head looks a tad better, but it's still hugely off. The outline of the hair has the two slight indentations on each side toward the top of the hairline (which was more pronounced in the comics than in the toon), but the proportions of the face are upside down. The forehead should be the width of the jawline and vice versa. The Toth design has the face widen slightly as you move down the sides; this does the opposite. The spit curl is correct, but the top of the hair is way too flat, and the sides should be thicker and a little more rounded. HB model sheets are here, and you can easily see what's off with this head:

The first headshot in the second link especially nails the Supes look that should have been followed, including the mild smile that would have helped make him a bit more Supes-like.

Compare with Zan, where the lines of the face and hair, well, line up very well:

        Apache Chief:

Now, Samurai is a bit off, as well:

The jaw should be more squared off, and the hair should be a lot thicker, with even more pronounced indentations at the top of the sides. Even so, it's still immediately recognizable as the character, probably because of the beard style and top knot, so there's a little more leeway than with Supes, who you really need to nail with the hair and face shape to get it right. And since Sam's head isn't oversized, the problems don''t hit you so hard right off the bat.

um both?? Freeze must have his freeze gun...how stupid would it be to make freeze without his gun but he comes with an umbrella instead?

Good Lord...it doesn't make sense. It wasn't supposed to make sense. Hence the "wink." The humor is in the absurdity. I fully understand and would never anticipate Mr. Freeze to be packed with Penguins umbrella. For the post, I fully repent.

The proportions on the Zan and Apache Chief heads are better than the other two. Superman's head is still too big, and the sculpt is pretty lame. But Apache Chief should be on a bigger body, I am not buying him if he is 8". I think the best looking one of the bunch is Zan.

Thanks for the pics! For me, the packaging will be most important. I love the Superfriends logo and colors.

Apache Chief looks "Good enough" for me to buy x2.

Samurai looks "Pretty. Darn Good" & will buy my x2 gladly.

Zan looks spot on & I'll buy him if his sister's head isn't Gigantic & matches Zan's size! x2 Zan figures for me If Jayna is sized the same! (Only gripes is the extended gloved hand looks too long to me & I hope they make him look straight forward as I dislike side looking eyes & have since my daughter's Barbie's started getting them).

Superman is a FAIL to me & looks out of place bearing his teeth with his big looong head! I don't like this Superman at all. It needs to redone in my opinion. I actually think it's pretty horrible. It needs to look like Super Friends Superman, I don't see it. I hate the new fat boots. I like regular Mego boots. I also would of liked plastic cuffs with matching colored hands instead of Batman 66 style, but that's just my opinion. The more TV styled gloves with the Cartoon style heads/hair just don't blend well to me. Plus I would like CTVT to carry Mego Mr. Fantastic gloves in various colors, Invisible Girl gloves, & REAL Female Hero boots as well. But the 66 style gloves are not a deal breaker, but I hope they are stiffer than the 66 ones that don't allow for great standing or holding. Hope ROOTED Hair, as all other toy lines' female super hero figures get molded hair, & I feel rooted hair when it's long is Mego style.

Hopefully Apache Chief will have three sizes: 8'' 12'' and 18''. A 18'' Apache Chief is the only character I would be interested in that scale.

Can FTC even make 12" Super Friends? FTC CANNOT make 12" DC Comics Sideshow has that license! Same reason with Hot Toys having 12" Batman 66 TV license!

Sideshow announced its 12" MARVEL Comics license at 2014 SDCC. Could FTC have gotten THAT?! ARGH! Sideshow 12" DC & Marvel are as much as $220! FTC 18" DC are $100!

And FTC make 12" Dukes and Gilligan's Island for $50!

Oh wow! Thank you for posting those new pics! I am feeling a bit better about the SF line. I really like the Samurai and Zan figures. Apache Chief seems slightly off, but not in a deal breaker sort of way. I have a custom 12 inch one, so I would probably pass on a 12 or 18 inch version, but I would but this in 8 inch. I'm sorry, but my opinion of Superman has not changed, it just does not look right to me. The teeth just look wrong. The jawline or the face seems off, too narrow or something. I do like the costumes on Superman, so I would possibly pick one up just for that.

I agree with invisiblelad that Superman is the weakest likeness of the characters we have seen so far. I'm OK with the gloves but the boots remind me too much of the Mattel moon boots - WAY too thick! Plus on Superman, visually the thick red line over the belt that is almost as thick as the yellow belt is a bit distracting.

I would definitely buy a larger scale Apache Chief. But they would have to make it available at the same time as the 8" version. If I got the 8" first, I would not buy a second, more expensive figure in a larger scale.

I still think that Wonder Woman will make or break the line. If she has lame looking molded hair with a tiara molded to the head, or a poorly done costume, I probably won't buy the rest of the main characters.

So far the "diversity characters" look great. Even if the rest of the characters look kinda lame, I might buy them as a set without getting the rest.

Zan and Jayna look good so far but I wouldn't get them without the main 5 characters. The draw just isn't there for me without the "full set" mentality. I just always saw them as kinda lame comic relief.

Without the big 5, I'd probably wait until the other heroes came out in JLA or some other packaging. You know they will be repackaged at some point.
