That's exactly how I feel. If it wasn't for FTC putting these out, I probably wouldn't have ever gotten one.

It's not a huge thing to me, but those boots are slightly different from the originals, aren't they?

^ I was thinking the same thing, but it's hard to tell from the pics. It actually is a big deal to me, those details matter IMO with quality repros.

Besides, it's a standard female hero boot FTC should take the time to develop. They've already dropped the ball a bit in the less-detailed Catwoman boot they chose.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Glad to see they are using the clear plastic head band on her and I hope they do that for all future figures with rooted hair. Too bad they didn't do it for Catwoman. Since I don't open my figures I really want the hair to be right on figures with rooted hair and not frizzed out and partially stuck under the top of the clamshell as my Catwoman was. Anyway... it gives them more of that real Mego feel seeing those beautiful figures with that clear plastic head band holding the hair down.

These looks great! The boots look like they serve a dual purpose in being the same mold that will apply to this figure and the '66 Batgirl. All they have to do is change the color. These are truly extraordinary times to love Mego-themed figures and FTC is leading the way. Incredible licenses and incredible volume. It's really amazing to behold. And after all these decades of having nothing resembling a Mego to now getting just about anything you can dream up, I'm not going to look this gift horse in the mouth. Because I think when these are gone, they're gone.

I hope a lot of the FTC figures make their way into the hands of kids. The 8-inch body really is the perfect size for play - not too big and not too little. The interchangeable costumes and heads just spark the imagination.

It was wild. I gave a couple of retro Mattel figures to the sons of a buddy of mine and within 10 minutes of playing with them, Luthor had Superman's suit on and vice versa. That's exactly something I would have done as a kid.

I sort of do that now. I don't "play" with my figures per se--meaning that I don't stage mock-battles between them like I did as a kid in the 70's--but I like kitbashing different heads and costumes together based on what I think looks best. Right now I have the Mattel Black Adam oufit on a Zica body with an EMCE Klingon head, because I think that head looks great as an evil Egyptian, and not so awesome as a Klingon. I have a CTVT skull head on a Zica body dressed up in the EMCE Dracula outfit because I don't really dig the Lugosi/Christoper Lee style of vampires (I'd love a Mego-style Nosferatu though.) I have the Twilight Zone Jason Foster figure wearing the Twilight Zone Alien's outfit, the Twilight Zoe Alien wearing the EMCE Keeper outfit, and the EMCE Keeper wearing the Klingon uniform. I also took EMCE Khan out of the drab engineering jumpsuit and put him in Mirror Kirk's outfit instead. Finally, I have an EMCE Dr. Zaius coming in, and I'm going to put him in a spare EMCE blue Trek uniform to make him part of Kirk's crew, because Zaius's outfit, while a perfection recreation of the original Mego, still looks nothing like it did in the movie and it's pretty drab on top of that.

And of course I've done a bunch of more minor alterations to certain figures as well, like giving Batman and Superman the Mattel cape and boots, or giving Joker the '66 outfit. For some reason I don't quite understand, mixing and matching my Mego-style figures like this just gives me a huge thrill.

My 5YO son and I have had some fun play time together with these. I lament that I can't tap into that imaginative headspace like I did when I was a kid, but I must say it's rewarding to see him getting as much joy and excitement from these as I did at his age.

^That's a nod to the original. Mego used two different shades of gray for various figures. For WGSH, Batman had lighter gray & Batgirl had darker.

I noticed that once they show the production photo of each of the figures in the series, the set shows up for delivery about 3 weeks later.

That's typically how stuff gets here from China...thus the old saying "...the slow boat to/from China"

I'm looking forward to getting this figure. She was always my favorite female Mego...I have both versions of the originals and will be glad to add this one to the set.
