Already sent back the Robin and ftc said they would refund me shipping and send me a replacement. Besides the wonky shoulders (which I feel all of them have to some extent). The figures are BEAUTIFUL. Robin, sadly, especially….can't wait to get the new one. The costumes are gorgeous. The bodies? I might be reading up on how to replace to whatever this ZICA thing is!Comment

Believe me,I had a blast last night changing these over to the better bodies and anyone who does it,won't regret itComment

To those of you changing over to ZICA bodies…
Do you ever feel… bad discarding the stock body in terms of altering a collectible? I mean, years from now, if you need to sell (not that you would) to pay for your nursing home care or whatever, you aren't dealing with the original collectible.
Does modifying a figure (even if it is an improvement) bother anyone who is a bit anal retentive about the original integrity of the toy?Comment

^It might bother me with a vintage Mego--although I've done colored hand-swaps on vintage figures without guilt--but I feel anything new is fair game. They're my toys, I can modify them as I please. I very seldom think of resale.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

the bodies are better strung on these,so that "might" help you...at least mine were before I changed them out, very happy with the resultComment

......the Zica bodies are exact replica's of these bodies and the original (but very slightly larger)...How does replacing a crappy body to a better body hurt the value? Even then, loose figures aren't that valuable anyway.Do you plan on selling them anytime soon? These new bodies have set the standard for the Rise of Mego's currently going on in this hobby

I have no problem replacing bodies on non-vintage figures. If it was an original Mego with no non-Mego parts I would keep it as is, but FTC toys? Who cares? I buy them for the excellent costumes and head-sculpts. The bodies are too fragile and tightly strung, and besides that, I'm so completely over the whole elastic band thing anyway. I don't understand why it's taken this long for bandless bodies to finally hit this hobby--I mean, the Famous Covers nine-inch bodies are more than a decade old now and although they aren't compatible with Megos due to size, they're still a brilliant example of how to put a Mego-style body together without elastic bands. Say what you want about the famous Covers figures but those bodies are so sturdy they feel practically unbreakable, and they can strike a ton of great poses.Comment

Having said that, I am gonna have to swap a Superman to a Type S body with fists so he can do the Superman pose!Comment
