Super7 The Worst "Glow Patrol" review

The latest set of The Worst just arrived from Super7...The Glow Patrol! I've always been a sucker for anything glow-in-the-dark, so these were a must buy.
In hand, they're a mixed bag...as always the sculpts and card art are gorgeous, and identical to the first two releases...The Midnight Special and The Graveyard Shift. That's the good...now for the bad.
I really wish they're printed the red border and "The Worst" logo in green to make the cards stand out as something special from the first two releases. I always associate green with glow stuff anyway, and Super7 used a green logo in the promos for this set. As for the glow effect, honestly it could have been better. To my surprise the figures are NOT molded in glow plastic. Instead they used a clear translucent plastic with a thin application of glow paint. The effect is very uneven...as you can see on my Snake Tut figure...his left arm barely glows at all, and he has brighter and dimmer spots throughout. This was the case with all six figures.

But, they are what they are...they're still very cool and I'm glad I bought 'em. Now bring on series two!

Super7 promoted the ALIEN skull beneath the dome as glow in the dark, and that didn't work. I also just got their single carded Entertainment Earth E.T. figure, and his heart is supposed to glow, but darned if I can't see it. Your Snake Tut looks miles more phosphorescent.

I was holding a black light about six inches away from him to take this pic...without it, almost no glow.

Probably the old '70s glow plastic contained something toxic. Maybe that's why they don't use it anymore.

I'll suck on my Remco Mummy for a while and see if my pee glows.

That's really cool, but they really should have used glow plastic. How many glow figures in the set?

Six...I would have loved to photograph them all, but it was a royal pain to get even one good shot, then the half hour ordeal of uploading it to photobucket.

              The characters are:

Snake Tut: Serpent God of Destruction
X The Unknown: Mysterious Shadow Assassin
Robot Reaper: Robotic Harbinger of Death
              Batula: Bat Prince of Darkness
Black Falcon: Undead Warlord of Doom
Gas Phantom: Ethereal Specter of Evil

I discovered they changed the description on two characters cardbacks at some point.

X The Unknown cards say either

                Mysterious Dark Assassin (rare) or
                Mysterious Shadow Assassin

                Gas Phantom cards say either

                Ethereal Death Specter (rare) or
                Ethereal Specter of Evil
