The best Star Trek figures ever made have arrived...

Upon seeing this review I immediately ordered both of these. After 40+ years someone finally nailed William Shatner's likeness perfectly.

Yup, they are awesome! I ordered both just as soon as the pre-order went up on BBTS.

Wow...very impressive. That's the kind of 50th anniversary merchandise I would hope for.

Great minds think alike, Dwayne. I was getting ready to start a thread on them myself. They are really super nice recreations with likenesses I would actually only expect from Sideshow these days. Here are a few pic to whet everyone's appetite...

The level of details on these two figures is astounding for the price. I hope these sell really well so Quantum Mechanix will be encouraged create figures of Bones, Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chekov and maybe even some TOS baddies.
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Yeah I'm in. I've been on the fence about these because of the price and the Mezco Star Trek figures coming out, but these are the figures I've always wanted. I went all out and got the exclusives because if you're spending that much, what's $20 more.

Yep, that's what I did as well. I can't get over the fact that the boots are REAL stitched together boots and not sculpted. Boy I hope they sell well enough to finish the crew and give us some aliens.
I'd buy a Klingon, Andorian, Talosian, Romulan, Gorn, M-113 Salt Vampire and Mugato.

I'll be in debt the rest of my life.

Sideshow? Do you mean Hot Toys? Because Sideshow's sculpts aren't anywhere near in line with the premium price they charge nowadays. They weren't bad for $40, but at $200+ they leave a lot to be desired.

I really wanted to avoid these, thinking the Mezco One:12 figures would fill the Trek void for me, but these are so nice I may have to get them.

Only problem is, at $180-200 a pop, I don't think I could commit beyond Kirk, Spock & McCoy (and maybe Scotty).

Yeah, if I were to dive into this line (and I must...resist...!), I would hope they spaced them out enough that I didn't have to buy more than 2-3 a year.
