You shouldn't need the skills of a safe cracker to open a toy package.

I'm assuming it must be deterring thieves from taking them out and leaving packaging on the shelves. Someone had stolen the belts out of a John Cena wrestling figure package at ToysRuS the other day. Would be frustrating for the parent whose child gets a toy missing some parts.

Yeah, I would get that for lines that are prone to parts stealing and figure swapping like SW, WWE, GI JOE, Marvel Legends, etc. But for toys like Strawberry Shortcake, it's kinda overkill. Oddly enough, the toys that would benefit the most from hard to open packages generally don't get them.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
