SDCC '15 Exclusive Stormtrooper - Hasbro Booth Mobbed

This is far from Hasbro's first rodeo... so what the heck happened here? It's like the Cabbage Patch Kids riots of the 80's all over again!

Seems Hasbro was not quite prepared for the onslaught of Star Wars fans at their booth this year. We have two reports of the events that took place as the

As soon as things started getting out of control 'they' - Hasbro or SDCC - should have shut down the sales. But of course that won't happen because money is more important than personal respect. I don't want to be a downer, but I see more and more of this un-warranted behavior (usually associated with some type of 'exclusive/limited offer') than I ever did in the past. Just last week a guy threatened me at a restaurant because I asked him to stop letting his kid run around and get underfoot. This was after the kid had spilled milk on me and my wife and was using the table tops as a bridge to move from one area to the next. I'm afraid this aggressive and self-serving attitude is the way of the world, today.

I guess it just shows how hungry folks are for merch from the new movies.

All that just for a figure folks will be able to get in a few months, minus the special limited edition packaging, of course. Pre-sales would've been the wisest move for Hasbro.

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

I remember all the fuss about the first Mace Windu boxed figure.
And people fighting over Menace figures in the toy aisles.
These figures would be worth a fortune...right?

It is amazing how "exclusivity" completely clouds one's logic. I'd rather pay extra on eBay than have to carry it around the Con and worry about damaging it. I'd rather pay eBay than the medical copay for broken ribs.

I saw 2 grown men get into a fist fight in the aisle at Walmart over a hotwheel car. One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

This would make for a great Mad Max movie: "Two men enter, one man leave with toy..."

I would've loved to have seen that. The closest I've seen something like that was back 30 years ago, parents (mainly mothers) would steal Cabbage Patch Dolls out of others shopping carts.

I don't see what the big deal is. I'm not a big fan of these new stormtroopers any way.

Well, if you're a Star Wars you're gonna buy into the hype one way or another---if only going to see it upon release----if you're not a "progressive" Star Wars fan ----I.e. "progressive" meaning anticipating this new movie rather than having given up on the franchise, well, new merch shouldn't have any affect on ya---obviously.

I'd say it's more about the first new Star Wars movie in years than the figure itself... and THAT said, it's a lot more understandable, to me personally, than deriving joy from watching a fistfight of any kind---let alone over a toy.

Exactly. In a couple months, these figures will be everywhere. I don't get it.
