The Jaws are great, they nailed that one.

Oh man, getting ALL the Jaws. They look really, really good. Just goes to show, they can do it if they try. This and the Breaking Bad line may be an indication that they're heard the complaints about likenesses and are doing something about it.

It's definitely a mixed batch of mixed choices, and mixed opinions, I myself will
probably pickup the Star Trek line and pass on the rest.

Just picked up Jack Burton and Lo Pan. The sculpts are improving. You can actually see a bit of Kurt Russell in the likeness. Still a ways from Zica and BBPs efforts, but better than most of their own, save for the Universal Monsters.

My GOD, the Jaws figures are SHARP! Yes, even the shark has a "menacing" look to it that I did not anticipate!

Think you'll replace the generic Toys R Us shark with the real Bruce?

For me, Bruce is as much a generic shark as Kong is a generic gorilla. He doesn't look like a normal shark, nor does he match the real shark footage shot by Ron and Valerie Taylor in the film. He's his own Movie Monster, and I do think Funko nailed it.

They did better than I thought they would, that's for sure.

That said, the shark I already have is good enough for me, so unless Funko's Bruce is dirt cheap, TRU's'll do for a while, if not permanently.

Please also note, that even though I was essentially proved wrong about the level of likeness their shark has, the big "get" for me in those TRU "shark/diver-explorer" sets I bought (besides the dirt cheap bargain) was the "shark cage" accessory, plus the other scuba accessories (some of which I'll cobble onto a Funko Hooper figure w/a little creative elbow grease!).

Also, I'd like to state for the record that I too have a great respect for the original JAWS film production----however, although I may be just as big a JAWS fan as the next guy (or even a bigger fan), that doesn't always translate into an attitude about JAWS merchandise that dovetails w/other fans---that's just "the nature of the beast"---so to speak

Some REALLY disappointing news from the ReAction Facebook Group. There will be no Phoebe Cates figure from Gremlins.

Some sad news, however. The Kate figure had to be cancelled since the actress apparently controls even her non-likeness rights, and won't approve the figure being made. Sorry guys!
Such a shame, because that prototype had a really swell sculpt. And if you're a kid, you want to re-create the movie theater scene.

Now they owe us a Dick Miller figure to replace her.

                        What?

                        She's the female-lead here.

I'd be curious to know why an actor pulls this kind of stuff....I mean, obviously it's a money-related issue---but it's just so hard for me to picture a reasonable answer to this, compared to, let's say, Craig's deal with Batman '66 which has GOT to have been a more nuanced scenario compared to a series of GREMLINS figures. Geesh.

Yikes! That doesn't bode well for Funko's upcoming Fast Times at Ridgemont High ReAction figures, either.

I don't understand why actors way past the point of working don't try to get a little change and publicity.

I mean, really, what other source of income does Phoebe Cates have these days? She was fine in her day, but I would think some little royalty checks 30 years later might be a nice thing. Why not just sign the line and say, "Have at it, boys!"? And then look forward to the checks in the mailbox.
