I'm on board for series 2.
I just love the whole look of the card and the general idea of it all.
Look at the way how Kane serenely undergoes getting his chest ripped open....That figure is so mellow....
"It's all good, folks, I'm going to a better place....I'll be starring in Hellboy and Doctor Who...."
Still angry about the price tag on the Egg Chamber, though....

Yeah, I personally think that figure looks ridiculous. I love the first series, and the idea behind it, but as mentioned, having the project passing from Super 7 to Funko is taking it into a different direction from what was originally intended, so series one is the end of the line for me. Wouldn't mind scoring a blue box Egg Chamber playset though...Comment

I don't mind them continuing the line, I think it's a great idea...but the idea for the Alien figures was to do what Kenner would have done...I wish they would have continued with this philosophy at least with just the Alien figures. That Kane is a huge departure from that. Although I personally don't like the properties in this line that weren't around when Kenner was doing figures like this (NBC, Pulp Fiction, Firefly, etc...) , I understand the market they are going for....I just wish they didn't mess with the Alien setYou will always be your child's favorite toy. ~Vicki LanskyComment

But if Kenner had stayed Separate, there's no telling what they would and wouldn't do. I understand that WWKD? Mindset, and agree to a certain extent. But the ultimate answer to that question is 'be absorbed by Hasbro' so what they'd do in today's marketplace is a moot point.
As for toys featuring blood, they didn't seem to mind, when they created Gre-Gory, so I can't understand the outrage over Kane.Comment

If Kenner was around today, the figures wouldn't look anything like this anyway. Heck, even back in the 70's and 80's, Kenner wasn't using this style of figure except for Star Wars. And I don't think the backlash on the Kane figure has anything to do with blood, it's more that it just doesn't fit with what the line established. You may like it for what it is, and that's great...I just don't. Just my opinion. Will I buy it...yep, in fact I already have the SDCC version. I'll support this line as much as I can. It's just not a great choice of a figure to me.Last edited by nazgul; Sep 23, '14, 2:35 PM.You will always be your child's favorite toy. ~Vicki LanskyComment

What is or isn't Kenner-like in an retro homage line is a matter of opinion and personal tastes. I don't get why something like this has to turn into back in forth verbal tug of war. I personally don't think Kenner would have released a chest burster Kane or a Gimp figure and I have zero interest in them. There is no outrage, only disinterest. But if someone else likes them and thinks Kenner would have made figures like that, awesome. I don't have slightest need or interest to be "right" on this. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

Technically, the first POTFII Bespin Luke was a Kenner figure, but Hasbro had already acquired the company by that point.
But, Excellent point regarding the Tauntaun!Last edited by Toy Timelord; Sep 23, '14, 7:58 PM.Comment
