Some Star Wars figure kitbashing I've been working on.

For whatever reason Hasbro can never seem to get some figures exactly right in making a definitive update to the classic Kenner figures. No matter how many versions they make. Many times they get it frustratingly close and other figures are just long over due for updates.

Nothing complicated just some parts switching and minor adjustments. No re-sculpting or painting. But I think the figures look much better.

Princess Leia. Head from the 2004 Vintage collection, body from the Legacy Collection Medical Frigate and sporting blaster from the 2007 Vintage Collection Combat Poncho.

Luke Jedi. Body from the Vintage Collection Lightsaber Construction, head and right hand from VC Endor Capture and cloak and gun from 2004 Original Trilogy Collection Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight. Still not perfect because he can't sit normally because of the weird hip joints.

Darth Vader. Hasbro has made like a bazillion Empire Vaders. But out of all of them, only one of them can actually hold his Lightsaber in his right hand. You would think they would at least get that right. 2010 VC08 Body, Black Series 06 head (spot on glossy empire helmet in a solid one piece sculpt) and the right glove from the nice but very outdated 2004 Vintage Collection Vader.

Obi Wan Kenobi. Legacy Collection Obi Wan with the hood stitched down so it would drape like in the movie.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I'm not expert on "modern" Star Wars figures, but I am very familiar with the first three movies and all of the figures that followed and these look outstanding!

I did the same thing with my jedi luke.
      Action Jackson is his name.
      Bold adventure is his game.

        That's really cool.

I briefly thought about trying to customize the incorrect robe that came with Lightsaber Construction Luke by cutting off the sleeves and sewing it shut and turning it into a cloak. But it still would have been way too oversized for the figure. So, I went with the cloak from the OTC Luke even though it wasn't a color match with the original figure because it was such a perfect fit.

There's so many Kenner figures Hasbro hasn't updated or can't get exactly right. Even in just trying to finish off a modern set of the original 12 Kenner figures, Hasbro has yet to make a modern Death Squad Commander/Imperial Navy Commander in grey. But at least they are finally releasing a correct Kenner Chewbacca update in the 3 3/4 inch Black Series next year. Right now it's a choice between the VOTC Chewbacca with Jedi style fur or the Early Bird Kit SW Chewie with incorrect closed mouth and weird just smelled something bad expression.

I think they look great! Grumpy Bear however doesn't seem impressed. But then again he never does.

Yeah, he doesn't impress easily and is very hard to please.
