I think the main thing that is so refreshing, to me, about Playmates TMNT stuff is, in an era of graded adult dust collector toys, they are designed to fun toys that are meant be opened and played with. Where Hasbro said we can't make a Death Star playset, like in the 70s, the market and retailers won't support it. Got the new movie Turtle Van tonight. It's a lot nicer than the Shellraiser and the Nicktoon turtles fit perfectly. I feel the last two trailers do show an improvement over the previous ones. Showing more humor and at least trying to get the personalities of the Turtles right. I'm thinking it looks they are still adjusting the looks of the Turtles too. But even if the movie turns out to be a mess, I'm still enjoying the toys. So, it's fine.
BTW: Looks like Newtralizer is now shipping with corrected weapon colors. They are now grey instead of the same brown as his skin. Wow. I don't know why but those LARP Turtles actually look kind of fun to me! I've resisted the cartoon line (movie line does nothing for me) thus far but with the SDCC exclusive Raph having a sweet comic sculpt, I'll definitely jump in if they show off more comic based figures at SDCC. That will make the pain of not getting NECA's second wave of Turtles a bit less hurtful.Comment
