DC Comics Multiverse Superman II General Zod found at Target

The new wave of DC Multiverse figures, including a couple different Keaton Batman figures, are showing up at Targets across the country and I finally snagged one tonight.

Here are some pics from my web site:

Glad to hear they are at Target stores. I've only seen them at TRU and they've raised the price to $14.99 a figure! Not sure how interested I am in the line at that price. I did hold my nose and pay it for an Umasked Keaton because there was only one and I didn't want to find out later it was the chase figure.

$14.99 is crazy. Target has them for $9.99 and I think that's even a little ridiculous.

I noticed TRU pulled the same stunt with the Total Heroes line... first it was $9.99, then $14.99.

Picked up the Keaton Unmasked Batman figure and a Mr. Freeze. Is this the 1st wave of these figures or have there been a few before this one. Zod and the regular Bats seemed top be packed at a little higher rate than the others. I could be wrong. These were probably the first "New" figures I've picked up off the shelf in a store in years. I've liked the Marvel Universe figures since they came out...but just can't justify spending $10 + per figure.

          $15 for a 3.75" figure is ridiculous.

Actually, no...$10 is ridiculous. $15 is highway robbery.

I think there was a previous wave of these that were Batman video game related characters. I'm not sure how many were in the case (12?), but I counted three Zods.

There was an earlier Wave based on a Batman video game. I'm not a gamer so I don't know which one. I bought and opened the grey and black Batman from that group. I liked the idea of having a Batman figure in that scale.

I hope this line does well since they are drawing from so many different sources. Lots of potential for great figures. Unless Mattel screws it up.

Why oh why did Mattel release Zod before Superman....AGAIN?!? I understand keeping back the big guns for later, to a point, but Zod is liable to be a pegwarmer with no Superman to fight. Putting Supes out first, THEN releasing Zod to compliment him makes a helluva lot more sense to me, but what do I know?

The likeness is a bit soft from the pics, and I agree Steve, it looks a bit more like Non. But it says Zod enough I guess, and I'm going to support this line. But $14.99 is indeed, insane. How TRU is managing to stay in business, I have no idea.

I wondered that, too. Why not release Superman and Zod in the same wave, and maybe even throw in Non and Ursa? It really makes no sense to me. Who is Zod supposed to fight in this wave? Michael Keaton?

When I first saw these figures in the store and noticed there was no Superman I figured Batman/Keaton was suppose to deal with Zod until Superman appears at the last moment to save the day!

I found 89 Batman and Zod at two Wal-marts today. Price was $9.97. No unmasked Batman to be seen, and there had to be at least one whole case at one of the stores. Makes me wonder if there is are two cases, one with at least one Keaton Batman, the other without. It sure looked like both stores had a whole case worth of figures.

I'd be much more interested in an assortment that included Superman and the 3 PZ villains together. I'm guessing Ursa and Non won't be made.

Found a Keaton Batman and General Zod at Target tonight. I noticed that the paint apps on Batman's chest emblem could be better. All three Batman figures had the same flaw to some degree. Passing along the information in case it's of use to someone. Zod, to me, looks like a cross between Non and Sean Connery. I'm not a big fan of the Reeve movies but I am looking forward to the Superman figure.

^I managed to find one near perfect Bat-emblem...the rest were various degrees of sloppy. The figure has about 4 paint apps, yet Mattel fudges it.

I have to say, out of the package, the Batman is a great figure. It really looks like Keaton, and that vinyl/cloth cape fits the character, and harkens back to classic Star Wars and Remco Mini-Monsters.

Can you post some pics? I'm dying to see these and not one store around here has them yet.
