Any news on classic Star Trek? I thought they were going to do those in Kenner style too?

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return... -
Those Back to the Future figures look absolutely awful.
I would have had a hard time identifying them without the name already added.
Btw, did you know your Endor Leia is pregnant?
I am not impressed with these yet. Hopefully these are prototypes that will be refined before release. I'm a huge Rocketeer fan (movie came out when I was a kid) and that figure is not making me jump up and down. I haven't decided if I'll order it yet. I preordered the SMDM figures that are based on a show I hadn't ever even seen and I'm hedging on the figure from one of my favorite movies.
I took some of my vintage Kenner figures that have helmets and put them next to the Rocketeer pic, for comparisons sake. I don't have a Stormtrooper disguise Luke for a full helmet compair (my vintage Kenner collection is rather small) but Lando's helmet shows that the bobble-helmet look is not vintage Kenner. That just looks goofy. The masked Predator (not pictured) looks good but that's 'cause it's a huge headed alien wearing a huge helmet!
I put the BttF lineup side by side so I can judge the likenesses. It's interesting because Marty's face is too angular while Biff's face is too soft and round. And why is Doc Brown's head so huge! That seems to be a problem with a lot of these ReAction guys. Like I said earlier, hopefully that's just rough prototypes. And is it me or does he look more like the 1st Doctor? Ironically, George, probably the least popular of the group, has the best likeness, though his head is still a bit large. He could do with some sort of accessory, maybe some binoculars?
(By the way, that skate board better have a foot peg!).

I'm just now seeing images of most of these. The Universal figures are definitely the best, which is great for me, because they are the ones I'm most interested in. I do agree that Remco did some of them better (Frankenstein's monster, in particular), but overall they are nice. Remind me a lot of the Burger King figures. The Back to the Future line is disappointing. I agree somewhere someone mixed up animated style with Kenner Star Wars style. A lot of these look like 3 3/4" figures filtered through those Electric Tiki "Tooned Up" statues.

You know what's great about the Monsters? They finally broke free of the antiquated style guide that showed Frankie with a green suit! I really like the grey coloring of Frankenstein's suit. I may have gone even more dark charcoal, but at least it's not green.

Looks like they used the same head sculpt on most and started from there.
They just dont look right.
I will get a predator to go with the alien and a few of the others but unless they change the head scuplts this wont be a
Lasting line.
I just hope the aliens figure will be better.Action Jackson is his name.

A bunch of these are giving me a late 80's early 90's ghostbusters/police academy cartoon action figure vibe, which I'd think was kinda cool if that's what they were going for, however they aren't and these aren't giving me much of a retro vibe at all.
Edit: I also think these 3 3/4" Universal monsters are criminally underrated figures, and you can probably get the full set sealed for $10 with a little patience http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw...+king&_sacat=0Last edited by 4NDR01D; Feb 20, '14, 6:44 PM.Comment

Even though the BTTF figures are not perfect, I will be getting these. I have wanted figures from this movie to add to my collective since 1985. I only wish they got actor likeness approval for these so at least the character's photo could be used instead of a generic image of the car. Now hears hoping since they make Ghostbusters POP they will make Reaction figures of them too! By the way rest in peace Harold Ramis (Egon), we will miss you.Comment
