    Mattel '66 BATMOBILE jusT delivered!!!

I'll post some pics ASAP...this thing is freaking HUGE!! I'm still picking my jaw up off the floor!

It's freaking incredible...there are no other words to describe the beauty of this toy. It's gotta be the nicest vehicle Mattel has EVER produced.

    Congrats! Please post pics soon.

I'm still trying to make heads or tails of where to order this thing from. Did you order it from TRU.com?

      Yep. TRU.com...

So far I've run into two snags...the box flaps are GLUED shut on this thing. There will be no returning it to the box once you open it because you literally destroy it getting it out.

Hoo boy...number two is worse. I can't seem to get the figures INTO the car, and that's the whole point, right?

The stiff wires in the figures' capes hinder it somewhat but the real problem is the seatbelts. They are made of hard plastic and only open on one side. Problem is, there's not enough room between the seatbelt and the seat back for the figures torso!

I've tried everything and can't get the figures to fit. Leave it to Mattel's engineers. Somebody surely must have tested this thing right? Come to think of it...we never saw any pics of the figures actually INSIDE the car did we? Hmmmm...

Don't give up yet on the seatbelts. My kids have had plenty of Mattel cars with seatbelts, and they take some navigating before you can get the figures in. Could you possibly heat the belts up with a hair dryer and make them more malleable?

Possibly...I'm just really concerned about either breaking the seatbelts or damaging the paint on the figures. On the bright side, the Batmobile does make a mighty impressive prop!

Figures fit great and it looks good, but it feels very cheap for the money. Neither hood nor trunk opens and all little parts are very rubbery. Couldn't pass it up, but some may feel jipped.

                The seatbelts disconnect!

Oh, thanks for posting the pix of the figures inside the Batmobile. (These seem to be the first such pix on the Internet, so congratulations.) Batman looks awfully squeezed into the Batmobile, with his big ole head sticking out. No wonder the Mattel crowd never showed this at the Toy Fairs/conventions. Do the doors open?

Doors do not open. It really looks cool on a shelf, but it feels like a 30 dollar toy and I think that's being fair. I've been waiting all my life for this line so I can't pass it up, but fence sitters may be a bit disappointed.

Ivaniski, thanks for your photos, too. Batman looks more inside the car in your photos. Do the doors open?

Yeah, this doesn't seem like a $60 plastic toy car, but it is the Batmobile and a store exclusive, which no doubt adds to the price tag. Thanks again for the photos and the replies.

That does it. I'm ordering this. I'm thinking Target WON'T be carrying this. My wife says they are notorious for having other store exclusives on their site. You can't even order it at Target's site now.

I was hoping to find this at TRU in stores...but I can't wait, even though I'm waiting on EE to ship my figures.
