^^^ I agree. Nice sculpt and paints. But I don't see the actress in there at all.

It's a lovely sculpt but I'm not really seeing Julie Newmar.

Okay- have my order in and will have some of these available to members here. Prices would be $50 for each set of 3 from the first wave, the 2 pack of batman and robin would be $30 each- both do not include shipping, it would be the actual shipping cost to you. Let me know if you're interested. They are scheduled to ship in July.

If they make a Batcave playset my brain will likely explode. I'd spend money on that and the car. Maybe it would come with Alfred and a little red phone.

My girlfriend is telling me I have to get the Batmobile, which is out of character for her lol. So yeah, I do think they are pricey but she's saying its an investment given that it is my favorite tv show. I might be in Bizzaro World.

Fully articulated six inch figures with dead-on likenesses and an in-scale TV accurate Batmobile? Who do I throw my cash at?
Wait til they get to wave three...then four...then announce a Batcycle, or Batcopter...or maybe even a Batcave playset...heck, Mattel DID make an incredible new Castle Grayskull.

I figure anybody who doesn't buy into the Mattel line from the start will be cryin' the blues BIG TIME later. And they'll end up paying through the nose to get figures they could've had for $17.

I can't Believe We Continue to Taint this Thread for the Idea that People Are Getting Priced outta The Hobby Over 18 Buck Figures.

I've Collected DCU Type Figures since the Begining ...
Most the 1's You Get on Matty Collector these Days Cost like 30 Bucks ...
with the Larger Figures Costing 60 When Shipped ...

Places like Big Bad Toy Store, Pile Your Loot, so You Only Pay for Shipping Once..., and Other Stores as well as BBTS Sell Sets . ....

I'm Not Rich By Any End of the Imagination ...
But Come on ..., 20 Bucks ..., is Like 5 Bucks a Week ..., and a Figure a Month If Need Be .... , And I'm Sure Everyone, Everywhere Throws atleast 5 Bucks Away Every Week on some Bull**** *** Crap .

So Far There's Like Only 5 New CHaracters by yrs End.... Plently of time to Save.
But it is all about the Priorities ..., now isn't it. The Fact is .., whatever Means the Most to you ..., is what your gonna Spend 5 Bucks on, it is what it is ..., and thats Fine too.

Hell, Most DC Direct Figures in Comicbook Shops ..., have really been 20+ For Years.

    Just Say'in ... Move On.

But I think I should be allowed to voice my opinion that I think it's too expensive. I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to pay $18 for a molded plastic figure. Maybe if I didn't already have so many Batman (and friends), Mego figures, and if re-Megos and custom parts weren't around, I would consider it. But I don't want to spend that kind of money just to display them, (since the recommended age is over 16 and my kids couldn't play w/ them). And I'm probably the minority in that line of thinking anyway. I'm sure other people will buy it. I'm sure the line isn't going to die just b/c a few folks like myself think they're too expensive.
Have you priced modern action figures? These prices fall in line with everything else. DC Universe Classics, which are also 6" scale were originally around $10 when the first wave came out several years ago and eventually got up to around $16 when the final wave hit the pegs before they moved the line to Matty Collector where availibility is limited and you're paying much more. 8" BBP figures average out to $19 a piece before shipping, while their 3 3/4" figures are around $10 before shipping. Mattel's JLU figures were 4.5" and had basically no articulation and closed out the line at $10 each. So again, these prices (even though they're just "molded plastic") are in line with everything else today.

As far as age and playability, the recommended age of 16 doesn't mean that a younger child wouldn't be able to play with these. Remove any small parts or accessories and it shouldn't be a problem. It's not like a 6" figure is going to be a choking hazard...

I just can't believe that price is even an issue when let's face it, our generation has wanted these for decades. We've imagined '66 TV Batman figures in many different scales, from G.I. Joe to Captain Action to Mego and beyond and have complied wish lists of what figures should be made. And now that they're finally here, it's a done deal, and it looks like they're putting a lot of time and effort into this line (the sculpts are dead-on amazing) there's already complaints before they even hit the shelves. As seems to be stauts quo for any retro line lately...no one is ever happy. And yet we would have killed for this line as kids....heck, I betcha it's why MOST of us even wanted a Mego Batman in the first place back in '72. I know it's why I wanted one...

So maybe a Comic Con Exclusive or that Mattel has no interest($) in the character and that these are the only waves we'll see for this line. Which I hope isn't the case.
Ah, thanks for that, good to know! I wonder how that buzz got started...Anyway, I certainly hope we see a 6" Batgirl!

The short answer is no, that is completely false. I’m only too happy to
let them use my likeness (as I have for the Star Trek Marta character)
provided I am compensated for such (as I am and have been for some time
by Viacom with regards to the Marta character).
Glad you asked as this is how false rumors get started. Perhaps I should
put something up on my site as I am receiving questions regarding this
    issue.
