I had no idea Lego's were so crazy expensive!!!

The price of new sets in the stores is crazy. Used sets are going for similar money around me. Would love to build some of the new Architecture series and may break down and buy the VW van set someday.

yea I was looking at some that are on display at toys r us and they're amazing but super expensive..The monsters one look great and so does that Jabba playset!!

Was hoping to get my girls started on the Barbie Friends series. That way I could have fun building the sets with them but not in this economy!

Jabba one is awesome but so overpriced for what it is I feel like... I think the Dracula Castle is much better for I think the same price- You can normally find them on eBay for about half price, but some people try to re-sell them after jacking the minifigures to resell, so be careful!

Legos ARE very expensive. I got an nonlicensed beginner set awhile back at Wal-mart and it was over $20!

also i think the reason why the are so expensive is because there are many creative people out there who build HUGE lego characters that go for big money and so they need a specific color or shape. Such as if any of you have been to Disneyland here in CA the lego store has some huge Disney replica outside check it. of course im sure they add something so they wont fall apart

I have just about every star wars set there is - I built about half of them, the other half is mint in box. The price on some of the early sets jumped like crazy.

I recall getting tons and I mean tons of sets from KB toys when they went under. They were marked 3 for 10 bucks, with 70% off the ten! I sold some of them for about 50 bucks each. I still have a few of each set (smaller sets) saving them for my kids. The larger sets I only have 1 of each set
