Anyone know how long this sale is running? We had a family emergency that kept me from heading out to TRU this weekend. I'm hoping it will still be going on next weekend.

Chris
I picked up a Dr. Evil yesterday at the TRU in Florence for the sale price. Can't say for sure but I feel like the sale will probably last for another week, maybe longer.
A very under the radar sale so far. At one store, there was only a sale sign for Dr. Evil. Another store had no sale signs. Anyway, the one sign I did see said the sale was through March 8. The price check scanner I used today on one figure indicated the same, March 8.
As a manner of coincidence last Sunday I too picked up both CA and DE on sale for $15 each before reading about it here. I think my local TRU store stated the sale would last through March early-something whe I used the price checker scan machine. I would have picked up this series sooner had the cost been what I recently paid. I think the prices of toys are outrageous and I'm certainly not going to spent $20 on the basic Marvel costume upgrades. It wasn't an advertised sale and there were plenty to pick from on the shelf. Now that I have 2 from the new series by Round 2, I think I am more apt to buying the delxue versions down the road.
Perfect time to buy a body! Does anyone know if Loki's mask fits okay on the Captain or do I have to get a Dr. Evil?
The bodies are the same mold just different colors, but the masks are intended for the heads of either good guy or bad. I think you could manage to get the mask on CA, but I think a better, tighter fit would be on DE. At least that was the case by Playing Mantis, if you wind up discovering otherwise, please report back and share.

I tired the Loki mask on my Captain Action and the fit was spot on. Nothing about how it seats was different from Dr. Evil. If this remains the case, I think I will just stay with CA as the host body and change them out with my extras as they go into the DC license. In the long run, I don't see the practicality in buying a figure (be it CA or DE) for every single costume set. As the themes change from one license to the next, I'll just switch out from my existing host bodies. One Dr. Evil will probably be enough for me.

That's good to know and a good idea staying with CA over DE. I have all the Playing Mantis figures and licensed character ones and it annoys me how my masked Kabai Singh has blue arms, hands, and ears. I realize it's by design that the function of the series is to have CA or DE in disguise, but my Ming the Merciless figure, while having a DE body and head, didn't have the blue skin.
This is the problem that plagues this line every time. The kid play value for the toy is that Cappy can change into different heroes. So it makes sense to sell the captain and the outfits separately. For the collector who wants to display them, you need a bunch of bodies, which becomes a cost issue.
I keep thinking that round2 needs to make an 'expansion pack' sort of body. Just the body itself in a blister pack at a lowr price point for the folks who want to display more than one costume at a time.

Round 2 is actually doing that. They are going to release a version of him in a coffin box with a lower price point. But it will just be the figure in his regular outfit, hat, belt, and boots. No weapons or accessories.

I will be doing this as well. It bothers me a little to see the colored head through the mask slits.

They should skip the costume as well. Just put him in a pair of CA boxer shorts in a mailer box.
