^^those were done quite a while ago and had a pretty hefty price tag. Nice figures, but pretty far down the boutique end of the toy spectrum.

They are geting closer to 9".

FYI, there are some SW models you can buy for around $40 - $70 that look close to Mego scale.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

NOW they want to cater to the collector types after all other options have been exausted. Bobble Heads, Super Deformed, Angry Birds, Galactic Heros, Plush Dolls, Bearbricks, Legos, Transformers, Mighty Muggs and every other stupid line. We wanted this 10-15 years ago. About time.

Star Wars has long had many adult collector lines and even out of all those you mentioned, only half could be considered kids only lines. Kids aren't buying the high end Sideshow and Gentle Giant stuff and they don't collect bobble heads or urban vinyl stuff like Mighty Muggs or import Bearbricks and Legos have a huge adult fanbase. I would only consider the Galactic Heroes, plush, Angry Birds and the SW Transformers strictly non collector lines. Let's also not forget, Hasbro already had a collector aimed line with the VOTC stuff. There are other collector scales than Marvel Legends. Lurk some SW forums. There's not as much excitement for the new scale as you would think. Many SW collectors are pretty hard core 3 3/4 inch scale collectors.

Depriest words "We would like to cater to the collector/dad types" People have been asking for stuff like this for 10-15 years. Unleashed was garbage also. I know all that stuff I listed wasn't Hasbro but I'm just saying we've gotten junk the last couple years in the form of Star Wars Action Figures in my opinion. Point is most people are saying "to late" on this. I agree. I'm picking up one character and that's it. Years ago I would have bought the entire line.

Your original post seemed to be saying the adult SW collector has not been catered to. Which I absolutely strongly disagree with. But if that wasn't your intent, I appologize.

People have been asking for stuff like this for 10-15 years.
Yes, there's been a vocal minority asking for Marvel Legends style SW figures. But I think they tend overestimate the popularity of that scale with the overall SW action figure collector base. Which, from what I have seen, is strongly in favor of the 3 3/4 inch scale. With the lurking I've done on SW sites and forums it also doesn't come off as a too little too late kinda thing. More of just a general disinterest in the scale itself and not the timing of it.

Over at Rebel Scum there seems to be quite a bit of interest actually...some are clamoring for 6 inch scale vehicles already, and some are ready to dump their 3 3/4 inch for something new.
Personally, I think these are gonna take off like crazy. They're a perfect fresh start for new collectors and those scared off by and/or tired of the enormity of the 3 3/4 line.

I daresay this will be one of the most successful toylines of all-time. I think the majority is underestimating it's potential success.
One of the reasons I feel this way, is that I remember how hardcore successful the POTF line was at it's start, and I sense a simillar
mania building for the Black Series line.

Hasbro will produce the figures in low numbers which will make scalpers very happy. At the very least, the only place you'll find these are at online retailers, which will sell them for 200-250% retail price. What is it now, 4 new figures every 8 months?

Again, I'm happy these are getting made for you guys that want them.

But I think some of you need to be maybe a little bit more realistic with your expectations for the line and I think some of you overestimate the popularity of the 6 inch scale with what is group of some pretty hard core 3 3/4 inch scale collectors. Even going by Rebelscums informal poll, as of now, only a little less than 16%, of those that voted, plan on buying all of them. Which is out of only 209 votes, at this time. That's really not a lot of interest considering RS is one of the most popular SW fan sites on the net. There is some demand, yes. But not going to be one of the biggest selling lines of all time kind of demand. Realistically, I'm hoping you guys will get a good couple of years out of it.
