Still reviewing these guys and today we're looking at everyone's favorite nerdy Turtle, Donatello!

I gotta be honest, I really like this figure. I'm torn between him and Mikey as my favorite of the Nick designs.

It's sort of amazing how much I've forgotten my hatred of the third toe. That's thanks in part to the great sculpts and ton of fun that these guys are.

As usual, I got the full breakdown so take a look if you're thinking about picking one of these guys up!

Infinite Hollywood: Nickelodeon Ninja Turtle Donatello Review

    Thanks for reading!

The TRU near me had an end cap of the new TMNT toys and it was already pretty well picked clean. Maybe a half dozen of the basic figures left. Even the vehicles are selling. I was able to get the Sewer Spinnin' Skateboard, Rippin' Rider and the last Ninja Stealth Bike. The Foot Clan Dragon Chopper was already sold out.

Just put up a review of Kraang.

    Kraang Figure Review

Not as good as the Turtles, but fun none the less.

Picked up the new Shellraiser turtle van at Target today. It's pretty nice looking and not a bad deal for $29.99. It's fairly big. It's one of those one time assembly deals though. No way getting it back in the box once it's put together. Crap load of stickers too. About half dozen of them are pretty small and you have to fit them into really tight places. Once it's all assembled and all the stickers are on, it looks cool on the outside and is kind of a weird mix of a van and a subway car. Not much for detail on the inside though. No seats for the figures or even a stearing wheel. The spring out spinning action feature is kinda cool. But I would have prefered more detail on the inside, like seats.

I broke down and ordered them because I love the sculpts. Still don't care for the scale. Just found out from Playmates official Facebook page there are currently no plans for any other Classic TMNT figures other than the four turtles. But they may consider it depending on sales.

I don't get the scale complaints myself. All toys are in their own scale. Almost no two toys from different companies match up. Hell DCUC and MOTUC don't match up. Neither does Movie Masters and DCUC... Marvel Legends can barely keep in scale amongst itself.

The Turtles toys will be in scale with the other Turtles toys, which is all they ever should be.

I do agree that doing them at a smaller scale with the rest of the Nick TMNT would have been a nice move, but people wanted larger 6 inch figures, which is exactly what Playmates delivered.

I think they look great but the scale totally kills it for me. Can't use them with the old toys, can't use them with the new toys or even the larger NECA figures. April and Shredder will have to be bigger and the Turtles are already out of scale and proportion with other lines, like MOTUC and DCUC, as it is. My fear/feeling is they will end up like the Thundercats classics and get cancelled after the first wave.

I would have loved a classic TMNT subset in scale with the new figures.

The Turtles always look nice, but I'm never much of a fan of the stylized humans/allies/villains in any of the relaunches. I'm very much looking forward to TMNT Classics though...despite their He-Man scale (Fwoosh has a review up - I wonder if April, Shredder or Casey would actually tower of the Masters of the Universe?).

Went back To Target today and got all 9 figures! Yay!! OMG!! These are Sooooo nice. The quality, the sculpts, the paint, the articulation just out of the ball park awesome. Still not loving April's new toon based head sculpt. Wish they had done her like the other figures which are a mix of the look of the original toys with the new cartoon designs. But other than that, they are just phenomenal.

Can you post a pic of the new Turtles to show scale with the Playmates 1988 or 2003 April? I'm just not digging the head sculpt of the new April.

I checked a TRU, 2 Targets and a Walmart and not a single Turtle. Bummer.

Are the four turtles the only figures in the TMNT classics collection so far?
