Captain Action pics from Toy Fair.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Tags: None -
awesome stuff. I hope they have a press write-up for it. I am still a bit confused as to standard and deluxe kits.
It looks like the small trays are holding what will be the standard costume, and that the items with the extra hands and secret ID masks will be the deluxe items. I think the deluxe ones will also have the Hawkeye parts.
I'd love to see just the body armature as well. It seems a pretty big departure from the classic CA body. The new bod looks to have a head sitting on a neck post rather than an integrated one that sits in the neck hole. The plug and play wrists look pretty slick as well.
Thanks for the link!! -
The deluxe sets will each have a piece of the Hawkeye costume.
The deluxe Capt. America set will include a Steve Rogers mask and the earlier Capt. shield. The general release will not.
The deluxe Spidey will include a Peter Parker mask and web shooters, the general release will not.
There may be a thing or two I am missing, but those are differences I am sure on.
The general Toys R Us releases will be $29.99 for Capt. Action, and $19.99 for each costume.
Their Toy Fair reveals are rather disappointing. Excited to see Dr. Evil, but I thought they were going to show Red Skull. I have little interest in Thor and Iron Man, and zero interest in Loki. My biggest wants are Green Goblin and Ghost Rider, but the lineup seems locked for 2012. Makes me wish the whole Avengers movie wasn't happening.Comment

I have noted the differences in the pack-ins for the standard vs. deluxe. I am just not sure where the marketing is headed for these items. i.e. are both versions bound for the brick and mortar TrU? Or are the online outlets the only place to shop for the deluxe sets.
Myself, I hope they get the timing and the sales from the Avengers movie. Not sure how Thor will work out in this format, but IM is gonna have to be a big hit.
Dr. E has never had much of a presence with different IDs, so that is going to be fun no matter what the character is. So far, all he has appeared as are two scientists, Ming, and Singh. It will be great to see some Marvel villains get a legitimate release.
Still waiting for that press release tho. If anyone sees one, post it here.Comment

I think I remember reading that the deluxe sets will be available at comic and/or specialty shops (and online) and the standards will be at TRU. But I could be totally wrong on that.Comment

I have March and April jotted down from my order sheet. But then again, that changed from a 4th qtr release last year, so I would not be surprised if it got pushed back. As I stated earlier, I really hope they hit hard alongside the Avengers movie so that they start out with some strong sales. This is a bit of a departure from the vintage line and a bit of a gamble with that in mind. I truly hope it works out for them.Comment

Posing the Cap like Tebow is funny, but I would have liked to have had a clear shot of how the costume looks on the figure just standing there.
But, from what I can see, the figure and costume looks much better than I had imagined.
I read somewhere that each of the costume sets would contain a piece to make a Hawkeye costume. Is that still in the plans? Oh, OK, I see the bow and arrow set at the top.Last edited by madmarva; Feb 14, '12, 8:05 AM.Comment

It will be interesting to see prototypes for Iron Man and Thor. I wonder when they will do a reveal for those? If they were going to come out later this year, I'm a little surprised they didn't have prototypes ready for the Toyfair. The Spiderman head and outfit just blow me away. So Romita-esque. I've held off buying the Hot Toys Spidey because I wanted to see how this guy holds up standing next to my Hot Toys Cap. Not sure if the interpretation will be too cartoony or if it will fit perfect. I know it's very cool looking though. I really like it.Last edited by MIB41; Feb 14, '12, 8:47 AM.Comment

Will the Daily Bugle replica still come with the deluxe Spidey? It doesn't seem to be in the display box with the Parker head and webshooters.Comment
