    I think its very risky to. Its really hit and miss. I guess there feeling is that after so many decades of hardly any change they wanted to do it in a big way and gain a new audience.

      I think your exactly right. I believe some aimless group of executives at the top said, "Give the kids and collectors new costumes and let's start a completely new line of product! They'll eat it up!" Unfortunately 'different' does not always mean 'better'. And unfortunately in this age of merchandising, it's typically done to create new product and manipulate the consumer. Hopefully there is more to our heroes than just fashion wear. Readers want substance. Good stories and quality artwork. When everything becomes a gimmick to sell a toy, the bloom is off the rose. We have one George Lucas. We don't need his clones.
