Tonner's Captain America is really, really, really bad.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
I just don't get this line at all. They seem to spend an extraordinary amount of time on the outfits, which always look darn good. But then they stick this generic Ken head with "life-like" hair on it, coupled with this really awful body with virtually no articulation and THEN charge you a price that is between a high end DC Direct figure and Hot Toys. Who would pay this? I just can't picture that target audience. I don't see where Barbie collectors would care for the price or the subject matter. And I don't see where those of us who collect hero-related figures would care for the heavy Barbie influence on these figures coupled with the massive price tag.
I really don't like any of Tonner Dolls. None of them look right to me. The males look like they are wearing makeup and look way to feminine in my opinion.

I collect dolls and superheroes and just can't get into the Tonners. The quality is there and you can tell a lot of effort goes into them. But they always end up looking kind of bizarre. The Captain America is particularly bad. The sculpt, paint and look of the head is just ghastly.
I don't know. They must sell because they keep making more.

It's the "drug-free" version of Cap. Just say no to the Super Soldier Serum.
My wife has the original 18" Wonder Woman and just recently acquired the Batgirl of the same size. The females are actually a lot nicer in person (especially if you only pay a fraction of the retail like she did for Babs), but I can't imagine the males really looking much better...or worse.
that's the most Effeminate looking Cap' I've ever seen. The Red Skull would simply laugh and walk away . . . . Donner's female heroes look good but the male figures just don't cut it.
