I'd love to see reissues of the classic starwars figures that would be great, I'd also be happy to see them expand the line to a lot of the characters that we are only getting now as well.

I think this could be one of the few ways hasbro could keep the classic line going, I mean how man luke jedi's can you buy especially when they are often just reissues:(.

I think though that this would only work if it was done in reto packaging and at a lower price point, about half what they are chargong now, to keep in with the less articulation and easier abilty to reuse parts on multiple characters

They could be "chase" figures. One to a case of other stuff. Or mail away.

For loose figures - there are quite a few of the vintage figs that you can get for the same or less than the $8+ price point which Hasbro would certainly try to milk out of any modern made figure regardless of when it was originally released. Certain of the heavy hitters like Luke farmboy, Vader, white Leia go for more than that, but many of the ESB and Jedi figures go for much less than 10 bucks a piece loose. And if you were a carded collector, the only difference would be in the packaging. Following the logic that if you don't mind a reissued figure, then one probably wouldn't mind a recard and there are plenty of good repro sources for cards and custom cards to repackage your nice loose figures on. Come to think of it, if you are OK with reproduction, it should be pretty easy to complete a loose collection for less than what it would cost to buy new carded figures from Hasbro.

A mass reissue of repro vintage SW figures would just make it more difficult to discern vintage from modern in loose lots and give you a bunch more stuff to wade through if you were a vintage collector.

WShat little I have seen regarding the ACTAL rocket shooting Boba it looks like the classic sculpt !

Chase figures. They would NEVER get opened , so none would MISTAKINGLY switch them.

I LOVE the idea of the prequel characters being done in the old Kenner style....

            THAT'S brilliant.

              It's the classic sculpt.

Hey that He Man reissue REALLY surprised me!
They are awesome.... as are all replicas on the whole.
How about if Kenner reissued the originals in that style?
                It'd be awesome for me.
Would you like it? Would Collector-investors stand for it?
The "collector-investor" has always rubbed me the wrong way in this type
context. If th eproduct sells well...and buyer/seller are both happy---
an "investor type" collector should write it off as a loss... thems the breaks
and that's it. "Wah...my toy isn't worth as much anymore, cause buyers and
sellers are benefitting." never computed with me.
What if they continued to expand to new guys in the old 5 point
                articularion style?
                Why not? Ya know?
"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris Mannix

I think it would be fun if they did new characters PT or OT in vintage style sculpting. I'd certainly collect them all.

I remember Playmates Star Trek changing size towards teh end because they said they had made everyone already. ( other than a few of my favorites mostly original series.)

Now I see Jabbas Dancer with 6 breasts is a figure ( I think they are breasts)
My buddy who worked on the reissued Kenner line told me years ago they planned to make everyone who everwalked across the screen. I skipped that cantina giant praying mantis because I thought it was a CGI new release character. Then I got SW widescreen.

What I want to know is why did Jabbas Dancer get as far as teh prototype stage back in the 1980s?

It didn't occur to me that they might be breasts. That's interesting, because I didn't think she could actually be less appealing.

But at least now I get to make the joke that she puts the udder in *shudder*, so there is that.

I sure would have loved a figure of her as a kid.
A very intriguing character. Memorable, to say the least!

She was played by Claire Davenport, who passed away in 2002.
Davenport also appeared in a bunch of other stuff like Doctor Who, The Elephant Man, The Return of the Pink Panther, Remington Steele, etc.
