Mattel's Monster High

Thanks so much!!! It seems to be really hit or miss at our local Target (and Walmart, too) and some of the area stores. My hubby checks MH every single time he goes into a store that sells toys (which is usually 3-5 times a week) and he checks online frequently. None of our local Walmarts (as far as we know) ever got the first run of Cupid - they all had signs that said no rainchecks and sorry for the ad, though one finally got a case of Cupids about 4 weeks ago. Now I just need a good place to display all of my dolls and the Dead Tired dolls and beds... -
Today's SDCC reveal...Spectra as PolterGhoul and Clawdeen as Wonder Wolf (Target exclusive Spring '13).
Idk if this is a 2-pack or what it means for more super-hero inspired Monster High characters...but it makes me want another DeadFast Ghoulia! Love me some super-heroes...damn you Mattel for pulling me back in every time!
Anyone get a Scarah & HooDude yet?Leave a comment:

Katie - the Clawdeen/Howleen packs just started shipping again. They've been in and out of stock on Target.com so keep your eyes peeled. I've seen 6-8 of the sets at two different Targets in the last week alone. In fact they are apparently going straight to clearance in some stores.

Have many of you been able to find the Clawdeen/Howleen two pack? My husband and I have been looking for it for months and have found NONE and when I last checked ebay, there were only 3 for sale. (Our Target seems to never restock, though they have been putting out the Skulls Shores rereleases.) I'm pretty desperate for this, as it is the only basic character (Howleen) that I do not have (other than Robecca and Venus).Leave a comment:

Hey turnbolt, I really like how you set up the high school playset. How many would you say you can comfortably/reasonably display without it feeling crowded? I wanted to crack one open and take some pics of my loose basic collection before picking up a couple to display DotD, Fear Squad, etc...but at 22 basics (not counting Robecca and Venus) I don't even think one will hold those.

From SDCC preview night...
Ghouls Rule Abbey (Wal-Mart Exclusive)
Roller Maze Clawdeen (to be rotated in ala Skull Shores Draculaura)
3 new dolls will debut daily in the Monster High showroom (Thursday, Fri & Sat!)
EDIT: Headless Headmistress Bloodgood revealed today as a Spring 2013 TRU Exclusive - yay!Last edited by Harbingerboy; Jul 12, '12, 1:34 PM.Leave a comment:

there was a veritable flood of new Cupids along with Spectra and some others at one of our Walmarts a couple of days ago. Around here, the shelves are usually pretty barren. I either showed up at just the right time, or they put a proper batch of stock out for this wave.Leave a comment:

I missed Venus, and all of my Targets are full of Gloom Beach packs still, but I did find Robecca today, the Cupid reissue and a 4 high school playsets that were just put out. Alas, I only bought one. I'm trying to scale back spatially for each of my collections and this Monster High flood of merch has been putting a hurt on the wallet anyway. We'll see how long I can stick to that.

I don't really mind the short pack on the boys - it is a girls line after all. But I am not fond of the NO pack. The Skull Shores assortment hit with my local grocer and I saw several cases of these come right out of the box and none of them had a Gil. My guess would be that he is not included in the revised case assortment that is coming out now. Same thing happened with the Clawd figure in the 1600 packs that my grocer got.
I don't follow Toylines like this ..., probably have never seen a case of anything Ever Opened either. I didn't know that about the "NO" Males at all. I guess that would explain why I've never seen them.
Mattel does need to figure out that whatever math they are using for the guy/gal ratio is not really working for this line. There's plenty of Kens out there; where's Gil?
... Which is also Mattel's other line ...., Thats what I am saying. I can't find males here, anywhere's ever. And I've been finding stuff ..., or atleast stuff I've never found Before.Leave a comment:

I had no trouble finding Gil initially, but noticed he disappeared with the later revision cases. I NEVER saw a single Sweet 1600 Clawd and only saw DotD Deuce once. I made sure to pick up Jackson as soon as I saw him. Though I've seen him several times since, I know he'll be unreasonably expensive on the secondary market by Fall as he isn't scheduled to ship again.Last edited by Harbingerboy; Jul 7, '12, 7:14 PM.Leave a comment:

Gil was included in the original Skull Shores assortment. Picked mine up at Kmart around last Christmas.Leave a comment:

We went all over the place looking for a starter pack for the create a monster boys. Saw plenty of the witch/cat and the others with two bodies, but only ever found ONE of the boy packs.
Mattel does need to figure out that whatever math they are using for the guy/gal ratio is not really working for this line. I am not planning on spending $80 on one kid doll, and I am not getting up at 6 in the morning to hit all the stores on delivery day either. If things get too difficult to get a hold of, people lose interest and stop buying; then the line ultimately suffers or goes away. I felt the same way when Hasbro was putting out different colored cardbacks and stickers for the POTF2 line.
So, hopefully, Mattel will release more of the dude characters or more variations of them. There's plenty of Kens out there; where's Gil?Leave a comment:

I saw the Scooter at ToysRus ..., But passed...., for now.
We got the WereCat Sisters instead ..., which we didn't have.
Anyone Here actually got Gil sitting at home ?
Is Mattel gonna address the Short Pack Male Nonsense ?
These all seem to be impossible Grabs, if your Not a Scalper.
Monster High Fashion Packs are Marked down a few Bucks at Target too.Leave a comment:
