Uh buh... wazza... mohawk Storm is the best! She kicked all-kinds of hiney, even after she lost her powers! AH LUVS HER......
Although the look is wonderfully dated now, it was a great leap forward for the character from her previous naive-likes-to-walk-around-nekkid-'cause-she's-a-goddess-from-africa portrayal.
She shocked Kitty, led the X-Men during this era and totally PWND Cyclops in the legendary Uncanny X-Men #201.
At the time, not great for Scott, but ultimately it created a wonderful story arc for him to find his "edge" again through X-Factor, Jim Lee's X-Men relaunch and on up through the current issues where he's out from under Professor X's shadow and leading the entire X-Nation.
Barry Windsor Smith's two "Lifedeath" issues are wonderful and it's a crime that they aren't in print as trades right now.
It was originally intended to be Barry Windsor Smith's third "Lifedeath" story starring Storm, but he fell out with Marvel before it was published.
The main character is essentially Storm (with some minor tweaking), Mohawk and all!
Wonderfully packaged hardcover graphic novel which really showcases the art much better than four color newsprint. Check it out if you are a big fan of Storm from that era.

OMG... I had never even heard of it. I have read both Lifedeath issues so many times, I have them memorized.
I'll check that out...thanks!
