The character himself, yeah, same here.
But they did make some cool demons like Malebolgia, Vertebreaker, etc.
But McF did start a new era of "the modern action figure", with a lot more detail to sculpting, etc.
But nowadays, all he makes is sports figures, HALO, ....

There was a time when everybody went nuts about Spawn figures, but these days you can give them away.
How the mighty have fallen....
Tell me about it. A few years back I tried to sell 99% of my Spawn stuff (even with super cheap 3-4$ prices) And I still could not get rid of it. I had to give most of it away as bonus items for buying at least one figure (buy one get these with it for free)

What the Main Problem is with Spawn figures is actually quite simple imo
Because of them, DC & Marvel needed to up thier game, and finally make something worth a Damn, for yrs of having nothing but real crap on the shelves outside of BTAS Figures...
Once they started Making figures worth a Damn, Star Wars came out with 3 More Movies & a Toon, & Transformers went back to vehicles, ... No one cares anymore about Spawn figures, more so the later Issued Statue ones.
They origionally Made Action Figures Better..., but then Ultimately Destroyed themselves in the Process.
... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

One of my friends owns a couple of comic book stores and he marked all his Spawn stuff down to $5 a LONG time ago, but it's still sitting there. Another one of my friends decided to start collecting it just because he's been re-reading the comics, so I gave him one of the two that I had since I couldn't sell mine.
of that Spawn related line I did keep the Maxx, a spawn signed by macfarlane and something else I forgot, but for the most part it is all out of here (finally).
He almost killed the comic world as well with the "limited this and variant that" editions

I would buy Male-whatchmacallits back in the day and sell them at shows for like four or five bucks more. People told me I was nuts for letting them go that cheap. I never took one home.
At an action figure show a year or so ago, one guy had a table full of them and nobody cared.
I never got the line personally, never read the comics and it felt like a majority of the people dealing them had just traded cards/comics for action figures. I don't see many of those guys anymore.

Todd ran Spawn to the ground as it helped finance his real love of sports. Nicely detailed figures but boring as ****. I always thought Spawn was a limited character and it shows.
That's why there is no interest in it now.
I always thought the best figures he ever did were The Yellow Submarine figures and the Beatles cartoon figures.
I sold most of mine.
Kept a couple of demons like Malebolgia, the "rare" (ahum) 50th Issue Carded Spawn (only given to store owners), and of course, Pantsless Angela!
Some day, I'm going to send my....dog...through college with these guys.....

Last month I got a call from someone wanting to sell their collection of toys. After a few inquiring phone questions I showed up at his storage facility. At first my excitement grew as the door opened and there were boxes upon boxes of toys.
The thrill did not last long after realizing nearly every box had nothing but McFarlane figures. I tried to explain to the poor fellow that giving him my bid would only be insulting, since he likely paid a great deal more. Upon his insistence I offered him an average of 1-2 dollars per figure, which worked out to around 500 dollars.
He became infuriated at me! His rant lasted for what seemed like forever as he went on and on about how he paid between 10-15 per figure and they should be worth double that now. I apologized to him again, and then he broke down. What an emotional roller-coaster. It turned out that I was no less than the 5th person to come see the collection and my offer was the best one yet.
By the end of the conversation I advised him to let his kids go at the figures. In my opinion they were never going to to up in value, and in fact would probably go down even farther. That was where I left him--just he..a storage facility...and a bunch of Spawn toys.
