That said...the 12" McCoy is probably the best Sculpt!

It's weird to be geeked out so much by a movie you want to buy it's merchandise until you see it.

I'm the same way. When I'm at TRU or Target, I look through the section somehow hoping that the figures will look better than the last time I looked at them. So far, the only thing bought by me has been the electronic Enterprise for my son to play with.

Call me twisted, but I've been buying them just because of the Trek connection. Do I like the actual figures design wise...hell no. Am I a huge fan of the new cast and film...hell no.

I had to move my Gabriel Legend of the Lone Ranger 3 3/4" figures the other day, and I commented to my wife how much nicer they look than the Trek figures made 25 years later. Heck, besides the lack of paint ops, the Comic Action and Pocket Heroes figures have better sculpts! There is really no excuse for how bad these are. Not since Toy Biz bombed out with the 89 Batman figures (and esp. the second series in 90) has a toy company so successfully blown a potentially great toy license. But, my son doesn't seem to care. He likes them.

That said...the 12" McCoy is probably the best Sculpt!

I agree the McCoy 12" is the best of the bunch, Spock is probably second. As much as I like the character of Kirk, I can't make myself buy that "squished" head 12" figure, ugh.

But, you know I think some of the second wave of 3.75 actually look kinda cool, of course I liked the 90's Toy Biz stuff too, no accounting for taste I guess.
